Motion MTR allow you to mix, attenuate and invert signals while having clear visual feedback of their levels.

Each channel can function as:
• Audio level control with VU meter
• CV attenuator with voltage meter
• CV inverter with voltage meter

Each input is normalled to 10v, so you can use each of them to generate fixed voltages. Also, the outputs of channels 1 and 2 are summed into Out 3 to be used as a mixer. Patch it wildly to make it work as an attenuverter with offset, as a mixer, a VU meter or a combination of them all! This module is our first collaboration with Robin Vincent from Molten modular.

Analog Thru-Zero Wavefolding VCO/LFO

Pony VCO is a fully analog Thru-Zero oscillator with wavefolder and dedicated VCA in only 4HP. The module offers great stability and tuning capabilities thanks to its powerful core, based on Sound Semiconductors IC. It comes with range selector, that allows it to go down to LFO range, as well as octave and waveform selectors.

In Through Zero oscillators, frequency is controlled by either positive and negative voltage. If FM CV goes below zero, the core will continue oscillating inverting its phase. This “little” change of behaviour allows the core to create a whole new range of timbres that are just impossible to achieve with regular VCOs. If you set the module as LFO, the range of funky modulations will be endless!

There is a separate panel for conversion to 1U available. You can use the 1U panel with the normal 3U module, but have to buy it additionally and you have to make some changes by soldering a hand full of SMD parts, but it's quite easy. 1U format keeping the same functionality and control layout.

NOW DIY & ASSEMBLED! Stereo Strip takes the idea of a channel strip and makes it modular. We hope that by bringing this long-established component of the audio engineering world into the Eurorack environment and by adding CV control over its key parameters that you will find new, creative ways to use it in your patches!

It features stereo inputs and outputs for audio or CV with EQ, voltage controlled panning, stereo VCA, performable mute and input/output level switching for Eurorack or line level uses. Abusing the input level switching allows for some musical, modulate-able and highly shapeable distortion sounds too.

Stereo Strip was designed to be a creative part of a modular patch. Creating stereo images from mono sources, shaping and modulating existing stereo images, synthesising stereo pseudo ring modulation, sweetening FX with EQ or drastically wave shaping your oscillators, creating send FX routings with benefits or it can simply be used as a channel strip at the end of chain in a patch.

The addition of line level gain boosting (for the input) or reduction (for the output) allow it to work as a stereo input or output interface for external gear with the advantage of the VCA, panning and the EQ to shape the sound. Experiment with bringing external gear into the Eurorack format and then shape and modulate those sounds them on the way in!

Try patching Stereo Strip anywhere you would place a VCA in a system and/or explore its EQ and voltage controlled panning, which are rarer additions to the sound sculpting options for the Eurorack format.

Knurlies by Befaco

Noise Plethora is a multitimbral noise monster in 14HP.

The module consists of three digital sound generators, followed by three analog multimode Filters. This combination makes it easy to sculpt different textures and noises and play with them intuitively and musically.

The first two channels let you choose from dozens of different algorithms and can be controlled dynamically by two CV controls. Textures, rumbles, low-fi blips, spikes, oscillator clusters, harsh noises, and much more can be chosen and changed on the fly.

The third channel has three independent outs: Gritty noise to create crispy and crackling soundscapes, White noise, and a filtered version with either of those two.

MEX, is a gate expander for Muxlicer! It adds a new line of gates to Muxlicer’s sequence, where you can choose to turn off the step, output same number of gates as muxlicer, or sending just one. Morphader is a performative tool designed to make multichannel CV/Audio crossfade easy and comfortable. Fading from one quad CV/audio scene to another. The core of the module has four CV controlled crossfaders, each with their individual control and a master fader to control them all. The module mixes the four crossfades at its fourth output, thanks to a clever normalization scheme. Each of them can be easily removed from the mix by plugging a cable at its own output. This can be everything! Lich is a programmable multi-function module based on Rebel Technology OWL platform. This is a Befaco Rebel collaboration that brings back Owl’s platform with this new hardware iteration. It has stereo in and out, four pot controls summed to cv inputs (like the classic Owl module) and as addition, CV and Gate outputs, patch selection with display and USB MIDI host and device connections. Percall is a percussive oriented module that will shape four different sound sources into percussive sounds. Percall has four VCAs with dedicated decay envelopes and a mixer, so you can prepare a percussion submix. Added strength input will provide extra dynamics to the sounds! To round up the module, audio inputs are normaled from one to two and from three to four, spicing them up with choke control. This allow to create open and closed Hats or kind of side-chained baselines with your kick. Checkout the DivKid video here.

Cv thing is a fully mapeable CV to MIDI converter in just 6HP. Its based on our VCMC module, but aiming for small and compact performance rigs. It has eight inputs that can be mapped to any MIDI message quite easily thanks to its simple and intuitive user interface. Ccs, Program change ,v/oct to Note or Clock are some of the messages that can be configured to easily control MIDI gear from your modular rig.

MIDI Thing is a compact 4 channel Midi to CV/Gate interface featuring 12 bit conversion that allows V/Oct control with around 1 cent precision. The module allows you to convert MIDI messages into CV/Gate signals, featuring several functional modes supporting multiple channels and polyphony as well as a drum trigger mode. With the simple press of a button you are able to change between modes, automatically detect MIDI channels, enter calibration mode and change several settings like clock resolutions or retrigger mode.

This thing is totally awesome! Why? Imagine your plugins being controlled from your modular by CV!  VCMC is a voltage-controlled MIDI controller. A fully editable MIDI controller with eight faders and push-buttons. Each of them with a CV or Gate input associated to automate their functioning via external signals or to be configured independently for further control. Each control on VCMC can be edited on its OLED screen and will be output either via DIN-5 or USB as a class-compliant MIDI device. DIYers can modify the module to make it standalone. Kickall is a 6HP compact synth voice that features everything needed to make a big fat Kick sound: A stable VCO that tracks V/oct, a couple of VCAs, envelopes for volume and pitch and an aggressive wave shaper. The module has been designed with a kick synthesis patch in mind: VCO to VCA with an envelope to open the VCA and another one to change VCO pitch. As addition a CV controlled waveshapper has been added to the VCO and an extra VCA at the end of the signal path to control the volume of the sound to act as kind of an accent.

StMix from Befaco is a compact four channel stereo mixer for audio signals, but can also be used mono. The high-quality processed module adds up to four stereo or mono signals and outputs them at the stereo output or leads the sum via a ribbon cable to the (separately available) Hexmix system from Befaco. An additional Aux input functions as a fifth input without level control or for looping through another mixer module. Here is a video about its assembly by Synth Diy Guy.

Muxlicer is a sequential signal processor designed to give a huge range of special functions to your modular setup in the minimum amount of space. The module is divided in three main blocks: a Digital Step Controller, a Gate Generator and an Analog Switch (a.k.a. Mux/DeMux).

Muxslicer can be used as a CV sequencer, advanced gate sequencer with ratchets/bursts/re-triggers and also a bi-directional 8-way sequential switch, with the ability to route one input to several outputs or several inputs to one output. The module features an internal tap tempo clock, but it can also be clocked externally with division/ multiplication control. There is a reset input, EOC out, and also a clock output with it’s own division/multiplication control. The sequencer can also be CV addressed to move through it’s stages and can also be played in one-shot mode. With one-shot play through and an additional external slew limiter you can create some unique 8 stage envelopes. Muxslicer is designed with high “function to HP ratio” philosophy, giving you many options and maximum flexibility in minimum space.

Burst is a Pingable Trigger Burst generator with distribution, probability and time division control. It will create multiplications of your triggers, leading to doubles, triplets, quintuplets and true polyrhythms for your modular system. The module allows you to add voltage controlled redrums and dynamic ratcheting effects for your patches. In addition, Burst works like a regular clock source and trigger for other modules via its Tempo and End of Cycle outputs.

6-channel performance mixer with EQs mutes and Pan

Hexmix System is a six channel performance mixer specially designed for Eurorack. The system has two separate modules, the core of the mixer: Hexmix that has six channels with three band EQ, mute, pan and EQ section on the master, and Hexpander that add three auxiliar sends per channel, PFL, individual outs and balanced output. The mixer has a strong inspiration in classical DJ mixers, providing sharp EQ’s for enhanced performance, auxilliar send for effects and individual outputs to record your performance per channel. The unique Mute Section is a powerful tool for performances, providing a momentary mute function controlled by vactrols and adding a smooth release to the signal decay. The system is designed to be placed in 6U, instead of the traditional 3U paradigm in Eurorack. So we will have every feature for each channel vertically as a convetional tabletop mixing deck.

Hexmix Features

This is a six channels mixer with three band EQ, vactrol mutes, pan and volume control per channel. Inputs for every channel are located at left side of Hexmix. Each jack is normalized to a VCA Expander connection in the back, so if you have a Hexmix VCA , you will have the output of each VCA to every input. connecting a jack in any input will disconnect whatever is coming from VCA. The signal passes through various process before being sent to the master section. All of this process are located and controlled at each Channel Strip. The Channel Strip is divided in four basic sections, that will go in the following order: Gain, Mute, EQ and Pan. Master section has it’s own EQ and volume control for the mix of all channels. Master EQ is software than individual channel’s and it’s meant to provide control over the final mix. It’s possible to change output level from line to synth wit ha switch located in the back.

Hexmix expander with 3 aux sends, PFL, individual outs per channel and master balanced out Hexpander adds great functionality to Hexmix module. Featuring Three aux send with auxiliary returns, individual outputs for each channel, complete PFL system and balanced output. Hexpander is designed to be placed on top of Hexmix. Expanding eurorack concept to 6u, allow every channel to be aligned as in traditional tabletop mixers. For every channel you have three auxiliar sends. One pot will measure the amount of signal sent to each of them.  Every auxiliar send has a volume pot, that will measure the level of the signal sent. There are two jacks available so it is possible to send the signal pre or post fader/EQ in parallel. Returns are stereo, having a switch to select if the signal is coming from synth or line level. Like this levels can be set properly, for example, either to a guitar pedal or a FX module at synth level.

Hexpander features a complete PFL system, to send channels to the headphones before you add them to main mix. Flip PFL switch to send that channel to the headphones out. With PFL/Master Pot you can do a crossfade between the master signal and every channel sent to PFL. Headphones out will control headphones volume. Level meter will show the level of the sum of all active PFLs. When there is no PFL active, it will show master level.  Every channel has individual 6,5" jacks out at line level. Here you heve the signal of every channel post EQ. As an addition, you have master balanced output.

Hex mix VCA is a compact six channel VCA with an unique response curve range from logarithmic to linear and to exponential using a pot. All outputs are routed to output six to act as a mixer, with a normalization of each one to remove each VCA from the Mix.

Hex mix VCA can act as six independent VCAs as well as a Mixer for all the inputs. Featuring an internal connection to interface with our Hexmix system. Every VCA has a response pot for the incoming CV, being full logarithmic at maximum setup and full exponential at minimum setup, having the linear response in the center position. The pot provides the full range of responses to adequate to our preferred application, such as percussive sounds or panning effects. Level pot of each channel is an attenuator of the signal coming out of each VCA. Jacks are normalized to 10 volts, so when we have no CV present VCA would be fully open and our Level pot will act as a volume.

The Rampage is Befaco’s approach to an old invention: the Serge/Buchla ramp generator. We took the idea of a “patch programmable” function generator/processor, put two units in the same module and tried to expand them with new funky functions and ways to combine them: Slope detectors, analogue logic functions and a few extra outputs to add some more complex features. The module is built around two voltage controlled integrators. Integrators (also known as Lag Processors or Slew limiters) allow you to process your voltages, converting sharp square waves in ramp-like waveforms.

These devices can, for instance, convert a gate signal into a simple envelope, or achieve a “portamento” or “glide” effect when applied to pitch CV. Other well known application of an integrator is it’s ability to low-pass filter an audio signal. Further information and example patches can be found in the user manual or in the videos.

This input amplifier is a dual pre-amp in just 4 HPs. Featuring 6,3 Jacks inputs as well as Minijacks. Both inputs are summed so you can use them at the same time as an input mixer. The unit is designed to amplify up to x20 the input signal, allowing to amplify most of the music machines out there (Domestic line levels) as well as some guitars (Hum bucket-like pickups and so). The first channel is normaled to second one in series, so it’s possible to have two stages of amplification or two separate ones.

i4, the new version of Befaco's Instrument Interface is here! A eurorack pre-amp capable to bring any type of audio signal to modular levels thanks to its amplification circuit. The module can drive regular and condenser microphones (+48V Phantom Powered) as well as Instrument and Line signals with a very low distortion ratio. Going further from the regular re-amp operation, Instrument Interface offers some additional extra functions like a Trig/Gate extractor and Envelope Follower circuits, allowing you to use the character of your audio signal in more creative ways.

The Chopping Kinky is a voltage controllable dual-channel wavefolder. Each of the module’s two channels has a unique wavefolding profile. At each input there are two CV inputs for controlling the level of waveshaping including one that passes through an attenuverter. Here is a YouTube video.

A wavefolder converts simple signals into richer and more dynamically changing ones. In contrast to a filter, wavefolding adds harmonic content to the waveform. It works by amplifying the waveform until it begins to saturate, then rather than clipping, the waveform gets folded back in on itself. The CHOPPING KINKY is DC coupled allowing it to be used for both CV and audio duties; to generate harmonics on an audio signal or kinking LFOs and envelopes

DIY kit version of the ultrastable even Voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) with great precision, designed to be stable even in the case of power supply fluctuations. Supplied with an octave selector of 10 positions from 32′ to 1/16′ (C0~C9). It’s able to track with a precision of 1 Cent from C0 to C7, 4 Cents in C8 and 13 Cents in C9.

The VC ADSR is our take on the classic ADSR: now smaller, more powerful and user friendly. This compact unit features voltage control for each stage with manual faders to improve usability, feel and aesthetics. A unique feature of the VC ADSR is the gate outputs for each stage of the envelope offering an extra level of control over your patch! Envelope generation can be triggered and controlled with the use of the panel mounted push button or with the trigger/gate input. Control of the response curve between each stage of the envelope (from linear to logarithmic/exponential) is provided by a potentiometer. The Befaco  Output Module is designed to be the master output for your modular system.

• The module is capable of stereo or mono operation and converts synth level signals to pro line level (+4dBu).
• It also features a 3.5mm jack to 6.5mm TRS jack for easy communication with the outside world.
• Also featured on the module is a headphone amplifier with a 6dB/Oct High-pass filter (fixed on 60Hz) to avoid “pops” and undesired noises when connecting your modular directly to a P.A.
• A switch is included to send a mono input to a left and right stereo output (particularily useful setting is useful when you connect the synth to a DJ mixer without mono inputs).
• Last but not least, it features two 6.5mm to 3.5mm jack input converters.

The A*B+C is a dual, four-quadrant multiplier with VC Offset

• Each section can perform the analog multiplication of two signals (A and B) and add an offset (C). It can also act as a dual voltage controlled attenuverter, dual ring modulator, dual VCA or four channel mixer (see block diagram below).
• The B inputs are routed to an attenuverter that multiplies the signal between -2 to 2, while the offset inputs (C) route thru a unity gain attenuverter (multiplies the signal between -1 and 1).
• B and C inputs are normalised to 5v and 10v respectively, so the A inputs can be processed using just the potentiometers.
• The output of first block is normalized to the second one, so the second output can act as master to get (A1*B1+C1) + (A2*B2+C2).

Dual Atenuverter is a CV/Audio utility module designed to attenuate, invert and apply offset to an input signal.

The “ATENUVERTER” pot will multiply your signal by 1 when turned clockwise and -1 when turned anti-clockwise.
The “OFFSET” control can add +/- 10V DC to the output. Useful as a manually controlled DC source when no input is connected.
Bicolour LEDs glow red when the output is positive and green when negative meaning this module works well as a CV monitor.

A voltage controlled slew limiter, AKA Lag Processor.

A Slew limiter is a device that smoothes an incoming signal, limiting the maximum rate of change of the output voltage over time. It is widely used with pitch CVs to obtain portamento but is also very useful for converting a gate signal into a basic envelope. The module has independent time controls for rising and falling voltages, each with it’s own CV.

Crush Delay v3 is a special Echo-Delay unit based on the PT2399 IC, which is able to offer 400ms of clean delay and up to 2 seconds of dirty repetitions, having a special talent to generate noisy-glitch textures. This third version comes with some interesting new features like redesigned VCAs circuits, wider range for clean delay and reduced depth to make it skiff friendly.

This is a dual Hi/Low pass filter. Inspired by the famous sallen key filter from MS-20 early version. It has attenuverters (inverter-attenuator) as an addition to the normal CV control in Cut-Off and CV control for the resonance with a little more presence of the resonance than the original. The normal CV control for Cut-Off keeps tracking trough 3 octaves. The ‘Link’ switch connects the input of the second into the output of the first to have it in series. Cutoff and resonance CV controlled.

Befaco’s regulated power bus features linear regulators for each rail and guarantees up to 1.5A of current without voltage drops and with minimum noise leakage. It comes with faston blades for daisy chaining several busses together for monster cases! At the +/- 12V rails the PowSkiff can deliver up to 1.5A and 1.3A respectively, as well as a full additional ampere at both the 5v and 9v rails. It features a frontplate mounted USB-A female socket which is great for lights, cooling fans and charging your mobile devices. Beware that the USB power is routed from the 5V rail so if you are using the USB port while using digital modules, anything plugged into it will be subtracting from the total 1A available (note that charging some phones draws a lot of current).

The 9V output on the front panel is designed with integration of guitar FX pedals in mind and implements a ‘Boss standard’ center-negative DC jack. The 1A available should be sufficient to supply nearly a dozen standard pedals!

The PowSkiff can function from any center-positive 2.1mm DC connector between 15 & 20V.

The JumpSkiff is a lightweight and portable 98HP skiff with integrated bus board and powersupply. It is made from lightweight and flexible materials including a PCB base (which doubles as the bus board) and side panels, acrylic end panels and aluminium rails. The integrated power supply outputs 625mA at +/- 12V rails and 1A at the +5V. The bus board offers 14x IDC power connections. This kit has all the necessary parts to build.

This switched power supply unit takes mains AC and converts it to +/-15V DC for use with a bus board. Output is 2A per rail. This supply can be used for the Befaco regulated power bus. WARNING: Do not attempt to wire to the mains AC unless you are 100% confident and qualified to do so. Incorrect connections between this power supply and the AC mains, or incorrect proceedure could potentially result in serious injury or even death.
