Standarts of Eurorack

The Eurorack standard was developed by Dieter Döpfer in 1996. Before that, there were several different standards on which modular synthesisers were built, such as the 5U Moog system, the Buchla format, or some Eurocard-sized synths like the Elektor Formant. However, none of these were well known or widely available. Since then, more developers have started to build modules in this standard. Today, there are over 600 manufacturers and more than 10,00 modules on the market.
