Product information "CubuSynth - Dual CS-20 VCF"
The module provides multiple filter modes, including low pass and high pass, which can be blended together to create a diverse range of filter responses. This allows you to shape your audio signal in various ways, from smooth and warm low pass filtering to more aggressive high pass filtering.
One of the standout features of the CS-20 VCF is its self-oscillating resonance capability. When the resonance is turned up, the filter produces a sine wave that can be used as an additional sound source. This feature adds to the versatility of the module, allowing you to create complex and evolving sounds and even cross-FM modulation possibilities.
The frequency and resonance parameters can be controlled via control voltage (CV) inputs. The frequency CV input can be attenuverted, meaning it can both attenuate and invert the incoming CV signal. This gives you precise control over the modulation depth and direction for frequency modulation.
The resonance CV input includes an attenuator, allowing you to adjust the modulation depth for the resonance parameter. This feature gives you the flexibility to add dynamic and expressive modulation to your sounds.
Additionally, the CS-20 VCF provides a 1V/Oct input, which allows you to control the filter's frequency using a standard 1V/Oct control voltage. This input is stable over a range of at least 2 to 3 octaves, ensuring melodic tracking and integration with other modular synthesizer components.
Overall, the CubuSynth Dual CS-20 VCF offers a powerful and flexible filtering solution with intuitive routing and modulation options. It is designed to inspire creativity and provide a wide range of sonic possibilities for your modular synthesizer setup.
Features:
• 2 individual Filter cores with common Frequency and Resonance controls
• CV control over Frequency and Resonance for each Filter core
• Self-oscillating Resonance with LED feedback circuit (visible on the Front)
• 1 V/oct input, tracking over 2~3 octaves
• Frequency Range: 22 Hz - 20 kHz
• Blend between LP / HP Filter modes

CubuSynth was founded by Ruben Sponar in 2020 and is based in the south of Portugal. The company develops Eurorack modules, a modular synthesiser format.
Ruben, a musician and audio engineer, is responsible for every stage of the process – from PCB layout and design, manual assembly and calibration, to writing manuals, maintaining the website, and personally handling customer support. He is supported by his wife and “partner in crime”, Joana Gregório, who manages content creation, marketing, administration, invoicing, as well as the preparation and shipping of orders.
CubuSynth is a small company driven by passion and dedication. Every detail is carefully taken care of so that each module arrives ready to inspire and nurture the musical creativity of modular synthesis enthusiasts.

Product Safety Information
Please read this safety guide before installation or use.
Important Notice & Intended Use
• This kit is intended for adult users experienced in electronics and modular synthesis.
• Assembly, including soldering, is required.
• Proper testing and installation are essential to ensure safe and functional operation.
• The completed module is intended for installation in a Eurorack-compatible synthesizer system powered by ±12V and +5V.
• Use outside this scope may result in malfunction, damage, or safety risks.
General Warnings
Electrical Hazards:
• Ensure the power supply matches the module’s specified voltage and current ratings (refer to the product manual). Incorrect voltage can damage the module and pose a safety risk.
• Never connect or disconnect the module while the Eurorack system is powered on.
• Wrong polarity can damage your module or system. Make sure the module is connected with correct polarity.
Heat Generation:
• The module may generate heat during operation. Ensure proper ventilation within your Eurorack case to prevent overheating.
Sharp Edges:
• The module’s faceplate and components may have sharp edges. Handle with care to avoid cuts or scratches.
Small Parts:
• Contains small parts that could cause a choking hazard. Keep away from children and pets.
Compatibility:
• This module is designed specifically for Eurorack-compatible systems. Connecting it to non-compatible systems may result in damage or malfunction.
Assembly Requirements
• Soldering skills are required to complete the module.
• Ensure a clean, well-lit and ventilated workspace free of flammable materials during assembly.
• Use appropriate tools and safety equipment, such as eye protection.
Testing
• Test the module thoroughly for shorts or incorrect assembly before powering it in your Eurorack system. When the unit has malfunctions due to incorrect assembly, the entire Eurorack system might be damaged. It's a good idea to test it in a separate case with only that single module.
• Use a multimeter or other appropriate tools to confirm proper functionality.
Installation and Use
• Mount securely in a Eurorack case using the provided screws.
• Use only the included or manufacturer-recommended power cable.
• Connect only when the power is off.
• Follow the module's user guide for instructions on operation. Do not exceed the input/output limits specified.
Responsibility
Users are solely responsible for proper assembly and testing. Contact manufacturer support for assistance if needed.
Environmental Safety
• Dispose of the module, its components, and packaging in accordance with local electronic waste regulations.
