LeafAudio - VCO-1 - Euro Kit

VCO-1 is an analogue VCO (oszillator) for the modular Eurorack system. From spring 2017 it can be complemented by VCO-1 Expander, which adds many functions like Sync, lin. FM, Wave Morphing, LFO etc. VCO-1 is temperature stable and provides a clean 1V/oct tracking over minimum 5 octaves. Will be a powerful combination!!!

Controls: Tuning (Coarse) ca. 20Hz - 20kHz, Tuning (Fine) ca. 8 half tones, Pulsewidthmodulation (PW). Connectors: 1V/oct input for CV-controlled pitch, PWM input for CV-controlled pulsewidth, Pulse audio output, Saw audio output. Power consumption: +12V: 25mA -12V: 20mA. Width: 10 HP, depth 40mm. This kit has all the necessary parts to build, including front panel and power cable. Building instructions, more infos and demos can be found here. Additional info: Unlike most DIY manufacturers, we produce our panels and circuit boards in germany. We also only use quality materials and durable parts. We hope that our customers appreciate and support that, even if it will cost you and us some extra €. The frontpanel was designed by Hannes Pasqualini / Papernoise.

DIY level: medium. The VCO-1 DIY kit can be built by medium experienced DIYers in about 2-4h. After finishing it, the 1V/oct tracking has to be adjusted, what might need some experience.

It comes as a complete kit with all needed parts to build it. That includes a multi colour aluminum frontpanel, high quality jacks and illuminated bi-color push buttons. The project is open source, so the schematic and source code is available.

Sonic Potions - Mal-2 - Euro Kit

Mal-2 is a random signal generator mainly intended as CV modulation source. It has 2 modes of operation to provide you with smooth random goodness. Imagine Eris herself lends you a third hand to keep your patches interesting. 1) In the first mode the CHANGE knob morphs from a cubic interpolated (sine like shaped) random signal to a random walk function that could make a wallstreet broker delirious with joy. 2) In the second mode the CHANGE knob sets the self similarity. On the minimum setting the signal is completely random. On the maximum setting the random sequence is locked to a repeating, identical 8 step sequence. In between the sequence seamlessly morphs to new shapes over time. This gives you a random CV where you can shape the bounds in which the chaos unfolds and goes far beyond a slew limited white noise.

Specs:

  •     6 HP
  •     12 bit CV output
  •     through hole components DIY kit
  •     Random gate output
  •     CV inputs with attenuverter for both knobs
  •     super slow cycles times up to lower audio range

Transient Modules - 2M - Euro Kit

The 2M is a dual three channel mixer in 6 HP with volume controls over all the inputs as well as the final output. As its design has been specially focused on audio applications, the input potentiometers are audio-taper type while the output ones are linear. Low distortion / high quality audio operational amplifiers have been selected in order to achieve clean audio mixing, but is also DC-coupled, so it can perform CV signal mixing as well. Great for a small system, allowing for submixes or even stereo mixing.

Transient Modules - 8S - Euro Kit

The 8S is an 8 step sequencer in 8 HP with control over parameters of the sequence as reset, hold, random step and direction. It’s been designed to work with clock related signals like triggers or gates but any type of CV signals can be used at its inputs. The output signal path is completely analog and its range can be set as unipolar (0 to +5 volts) or bipolar (-5 to +5 volts) via jumper on the back.

Zlob Modular - Attennumixer - Euro Kit

The Zlob Modular Attenumixer is a skiff friendly three channel passive attenuator with a sum. Each channel is normalled to the sum (VI) so it can be used as a 2 channel mixer and 1 channel attenuator, or a 3 channel mixer, or as 3 separate attenuators. Normalization to the sum is broken by inserting a jack into the outs of channels I-III. The Attenumixer works well with both CV and audio, although the potentiometers have a linear response. Since this module is passive there will be some amount of signal loss with the sum out. No power consumption, it's passive.

Befaco - Chopping Kinky (Dual Wavefolder) - Euro Kit

Each of the module’s two channels has a unique wavefolding profile. At each input there are two CV inputs for controlling the level of waveshaping including one that passes through an attenuverter. A wavefolder converts simple signals into richer and more dynamically changing ones. In contrast to a filter, wavefolding adds harmonic content to the waveform. It works by amplifying the waveform until it begins to saturate, then rather than clipping, the waveform gets folded back in on itself. The CHOPPING KINKY is DC coupled allowing it to be used for both CV and audio duties; to generate harmonics on an audio signal or kinking LFOs and envelopes.

Power consumption: +12V: 65mA -12V: 55mA. Width: 8 HP, depth 30mm. This kit has all the necessary parts to build, including front panel and power cable. Building instructions, more infos and demos can be found here. A nice building and demo video by Quincas Moreira alias Synth DIY Guy is here.

Befaco - Rampage (Function Generator) - Euro Kit

The Rampage is Befaco’s approach to an old invention: the Serge/Buchla ramp generator. We took the idea of a “patch programmable” function generator/processor, put two units in the same module and tried to expand them with new funky functions and ways to combine them: Slope detectors, analogue logic functions and a few extra outputs to add some more complex features. The module is built around two voltage controlled integrators. Integrators (also known as Lag Processors or Slew limiters) allow you to process your voltages, converting sharp square waves in ramp-like waveforms.

These devices can, for instance, convert a gate signal into a simple envelope, or achieve a “portamento” or “glide” effect when applied to pitch CV. Other well known application of an integrator is it’s ability to low-pass filter an audio signal. Further information and example patches can be found in the user manual or in the videos.

Power consumption: +12V: 110mA -12V: 90mA. Banana or minijack connectors available. Width: 18 HP, depth 30mm. This kit has all the necessary parts to build, including front panel and power cable. Comes with all SMD Parts pre-soldered! Building instructions, more infos and demos can be found here.

Befaco - Crush Delay - Euro Kit

Second version of our Crush delay. An echo-delay unit based on PT2399 that specializes in generating digital garbage and noise! This unit has been improved greatly from first version and signal routing has been changed to improve performance possibilities. Crush Delay v2 has two VCAs that will control the amount of signal that is sent to the delay. First input routed to dry/wet and delay and second one directly to delay. With this second input and Send output we can do external feedback routings (See block diagram). The biggest improvement has been made to the control of PT2399 itself, applying circuit bending techniques. It has an improved and extended speed control, getting a wider range on Crush area as well as a smoother control, converting this unit into a VC digital garbage generator! It includes three gate controlled switches that enables three bends to the chip, providing an even greater variety of digital noise, glitches and nasty mayhem! Of course, crush Delay v2 can be used as an echo-delay unit with around 400 ms clean delay time. and up to 2 seconds of dirty delay. Features VC feedback with an automatic gain control to keep levels stable at any feedback level.
