The MetaModule puts real knobs and jacks on virtual software modules. Step back from the computer and make music with hardware, while keeping the flexibility and expandability of software.THIS PRODUCT IS ASSEMBLED AND NO DIY!The MetaModule comes with over 160 built-in modules from 4ms Company, Befaco, HetrickCV, NonlinearCircuits, and Scanner Darkly, plus clones of popular classics such as the Mutable Instruments Eurorack modules, fun physical modeling algorithms, and lots of handy utilities. All of the included modules are also available on the computer using the free program VCV Rack. Whether you make patches on VCV Rack and transfer them to the MetaModule, or if you just create patches directly on the MetaModule, there are plenty of creative modules to inspire new ways to make music.MetaModule PluginsIf the 160+ built-in module aren’t enough, you can load more modules as plugins. Already there are over 200 modules in third-party plugins from Bogaudio, Valley, ChowDSP, NANO Modular, and the list is growing. We have an SDK available to make it easy for VCV Rack plugin developers to convert their plugin to a MetaModule plugin. Our licensing terms are non-restrictive: developers are welcome to distribute their plugin in any way they wish, commercially or not.Mapping Knobs and JacksThe MetaModule has 12 knobs that can be mapped to virtual knobs. Each knob can be mapped to up eight virtual knobs, and each mapping can have a different range and offset. You also can save a group of mappings as a Knob Set and switch between Knob Sets with the encoder. You also can map the 8 inputs and 8 outputs to virtual module jacks. Also, the MetaModule is a USB MIDI host, so you also can map MIDI CC, note, gate, and other parameters to knobs and jacks.ExpandersThere are lots of ways to customize your MetaModule. A Wifi expander allows you to wirelessly transfer patches from your computer. Add eight more knobs with the Knob expander, or buttons with the Button expander. A CV/Audio expander adds more high-resolution inputs and outputs, and the Gate In/Out expander adds not only gate jacks but also TRS MIDI and I2C.Under the HoodThere are six CV/Audio inputs, two gate inputs, and six CV/Audio outputs. The CV/Audio jacks are all 24-bit, 48kHz DC-coupled, -10V to +10V. A USB-C jack accepts MIDI devices and thumb drives. Befaco / Divkid - Stereo Strip

available

Stereo Strip takes the idea of a channel strip and makes it modular. We hope that by bringing this long-established component of the audio engineering world into the Eurorack environment and by adding CV control over its key parameters that you will find new, creative ways to use it in your patches! It features stereo inputs and outputs for audio or CV with EQ, voltage controlled panning, stereo VCA, performable mute and input/output level switching for Eurorack or line level uses. Abusing the input level switching allows for some musical, modulate-able and highly shapeable distortion sounds too.Stereo Strip was designed to be a creative part of a modular patch. Creating stereo images from mono sources, shaping and modulating existing stereo images, synthesising stereo pseudo ring modulation, sweetening FX with EQ or drastically wave shaping your oscillators, creating send FX routings with benefits or it can simply be used as a channel strip at the end of chain in a patch. The addition of line level gain boosting (for the input) or reduction (for the output) allow it to work as a stereo input or output interface for external gear with the advantage of the VCA, panning and the EQ to shape the sound. Experiment with bringing external gear into the Eurorack format and then shape and modulate those sounds them on the way in!Try patching Stereo Strip anywhere you would place a VCA in a system and/or explore its EQ and voltage controlled panning, which are rarer additions to the sound sculpting options for the Eurorack format. This module is designed in collaboration with Ben Wilson aka Divkid.Features:• 3 band EQ• Panning (manual and voltage controlled)• VCA level control (manual or voltage controlled)• 3 way performance muting (on-off-momentary)• Soft clipping limiter (distortion!)• Line level input and/or output adjustmentDIY-Kit-Type:SMD-Kit-1. LeafAudio - Contact Microphone

available

This is the new 2025 contact mic version. With a contact microphone, any surface or object becomes a canvas for sonic exploration. Unlike traditional recording methods that capture sound waves traveling through air, contact microphones pick up vibrations directly from materials – allowing you to "listen" to objects, plants, or even soil from the inside out. This unique perspective unlocks a world of intriguing and sometimes abstract sounds, making it an essential tool for experimental recording and sound design.  The 2025 edition of LeafAudio’s popular contact microphone has been completely re-engineered for maximum flexibility and features full electrical shielding for optimal performance. This upgraded model comes in a set with a durable neoprene zip-bag, ensuring safe transport while providing space for all included accessories. LeafAudio - Field Amp

available

Field Amp is LeafAudio's solution for the world of body sound transmission: recording the world with contact microphones. It provides high-gain, noise-free amplification and impedance conversion to ensure the best possible sound quality from your contact mics. After releasing our Microphonic Soundbox, the team of LeafAudio quickly realized they’d hit a sweet spot. Many sound designers praised its clean, noise-free amplification – even if they didn’t need the Soundbox itself. So they created a standalone solution: the Field Amp. If you want the Soundbox amp without the box, the Field Amp is your new best friend. Perfect for studio work, field recording, sound installations and creative sound design of all kinds.Quality amplification & power management circuitry. No noise or beeping can be heard or seen in the spectrum, not even above the hearing range, which would come into focus later during sound manipulation processes. You can record with high sampling rates, transpose the audio by a lot and enjoy your pure sound. Just the clear, pristine audio you want to capture with your contact microphones.Optimised for travelling. The small unit is fully portable, light, offers many mounting possibilities. A professional case is included, which also can carry your contact mics, batteries and cables.Body sound transmission vs. airborne sound. We’re used to hearing the world the way our ears do—through air. Sound travels through the air before reaching our eardrums or a microphone. But with contact microphones, you change that perspective. Instead of hearing the surface of materials, you hear from within them. This shift opens up a powerful trick for sound design. It reveals a hidden world of textures and tones that are normally out of reach. Give it a try—there’s an entire universe of sound waiting to be discovered.Field Amp is optimised for Hi-Z signals of contact microphones. It also acts as an impedance converter with a powerful output signal. No loss of signal quality when you keep the wiring short between microphones and the input. The output is a strong signal and you don't have to worry about a few meters of cable. We recommend using the shielded contact microphones by LeafAudio. Generally you can try contact mics with our pre-amp, hydrophones, or guitar pickups. We offer separate adapters for both input and output to ensure compatibility with all your devices.Features:• Low-Noise pre-amp for contact microphones• Case included• 9V DC power supply or battery• USB-C to barrel connector adapter cable included• Up to ~50x adjustable gain• 1 mono input• 2 mono outputs (one -12 dB)• All connections 3.5 mm (1/8") mono jack• Input impedance: 3,3M Ohm• Output impedance: 1k Ohm• 12 x 12 x 3.4 cm• 410 g (incl. case & USB-C to barrel cable)• 1/4"-UNC mount on top and bottom for camera tripods etc.

LeafAudio - Microphonic Playground

available

Microphonic Playground is the newest addition in our series of sound design instruments. Like its bigger sister, the Microphonic Soundbox, it's a playground for sonic exploration of any kind. It can also be your inexpensive entry into the Soundbox world before you possibly upgrade later. It works through body sound transmission on basis of a contact microphone. In comparison to airborne sound transmission (via a microphone), all sounds created on the box can be listened to in a very intimate and direct way. Imagine it like listening to the materials from the inside, very much in an ASMR way.The difference to the Microphonic Soundbox are two things:1) It is passive, has no active amplification and needs no power supply.2) It's an open playground with no audio sources or objects built into it, so you are free to attach everything to it what you can imagine. To get you started with ideas we now offer a variety of add-ons, that can be used with both the Microphonic Soundbox and the Microphonic Playground. The unit has an audio input and an output. Its audio output can be amplified by the external input of a Microphonic Soundbox and therefore act as an extension. Or it can be amplified by any pre-amplifier, mixing desk or audio interface. Multiple Playgrounds can be cascaded in series. Play it on its own, or extend your Microphonic Soundbox with one or two Playgrounds and some of the new add-ons.You're free to use it as a platform for sonic experimentation or just convert it into a Bass Kalimba, for example, and leave it that way. The Microphonic Soundbox is an instrument for experimental sound creation. It features a resonant wooden body equipped with contact microphones, battery-powered low-noise preamps and a variety of sound-generating surfaces, including springs, rods, textured panels and a kalimba. Use it standalone to create textures and samples or pair it with delay and loop-based effects for evolving soundscapes. The Instrument features a range of playable surfaces and objects that allow the creation of unheard sounds and textures. The main components are:• Two metal rods – you can excite them with a stick or similar to get bell-like sounds, or play them with a bow to create ethereal–metallic tones. Pitching recordings down reveals deep metallic drones.• Three metal springs – pluck, pull or whip them to produce vintage reverb-like spring sounds.• Sandpaper surface – scratch it with different objects and materials to create sounds ranging from soft whispering to harsh scraping noises.• Kalimba with 5 strips – play harmonic melodies or use the freely tunable mechanism to explore microtonal tunings. Transposing these recordings down can create low bass patterns. The Soundbox is designed to be modular, featuring M3 threaded strips that allow additional objects to be attached using thumb screws. To pick up the vibrations created by the surfaces and objects, two contact microphones are built into the instrument. One is placed at the centre for the kalimba, rods, springs and sandpaper. The second is positioned at the side to capture sounds from attached objects. The internal preamp is specially designed to amplify contact microphones, delivering low-noise amplification with precise detail – allowing you to boost even the smallest and quietest objects and turn them into cinematic, gigantic soundscape. Two Channels, One Input, Two OutputsThe Microphonic Soundbox offers two independent amplifier channels and a 1/4″ input for external contact microphones, enabling extended routing options. The Microphonic Playground can serve as an extension as well to multiply your sonic possibilities.Output 1 provides a mono mix of both channels.
