Important: These cards might look like Micro SD cards, but they're not! Workshop program cards use a unique, proprietary format specifically designed for the Music Thing Modular Workshop System. This set includes two blank 16MB cards, ready for programming your own creations and ideas. An excellent example of what's possible with the larger 16MB cards is Brian Dorsey's Backyard Rain – you can explore and download it directly from GitHub.New programs and creative tools for the Workshop cards are constantly being developed by the community. For details on current programs, check out the comprehensive Workshop Computer Guide, or subscribe to the free Workshop System Newsletter to stay informed about the latest additions. These program cards store the complete flash memory used by the Workshop’s RP2040 microcontroller. Because of this, the Workshop Computer itself doesn't hold any permanent firmware. Everything lives on the program cards.Cards are easy to program, update, or reprogram via USB with a straightforward drag-and-drop method. You can create your own software in C/C++ (using Pico SDK), Arduino Pico, Circuit Python, or any other compatible programming environment for the RP2040 chip.

Crum Drum is a 4-voice drum machine with built in randomization and probability based sequencing designed by NYSTRÖMRhythms can be created and manipulated using the internal random sequencer or externally via MIDI USB. Press the beat button to generate new rhythms, adjust the probability to create continuous variations, and increase the randomness to modulate the sound of your beats! Generated sequences can also be sent out via MIDI USB and Crum Drum can also sync via analog clock in and out.The four voices of Crum Drum are Kick, Snare, HiHat and Bass (FM). There are 8 parameters knobs to sculpt the character of each voice allowing for wide variety of tones. It’s easy to create varied and organic sequences by adding modulation via the Probability and Randomness controls. Probability sets the chance that the selected voice will play per step of the sequence, while randomness increases the parameter modulation for each voice. The higher the randomness, the more each instrument parameter is modulated per step. Some of the instrument parameter controls have different behaviours depending on which voice is selected, so make sure to check the user manual for full details.Crum Drum features four global effects which are: Overdrive, Reverb, Delay and Swing. The delay-time is tempo synced and the subdivided differently dependent on the BPM.Power is provided via micro usb cable (not included)Features:• 4 instruments: Kick, Snare, HiHat, Bass• 8 sound parameters per instrument• Overdrive, Reverb, Delay & Swing• Send & Recieve Analog & Midi USB clock• Send & Receive Midi USB sequencing• Randomised and probability based sequencing

Crum Hum is a 3-voice experimental and expressive soundscaping instrument designed for generative and ever-evolving melodic and harmonic creation. The Crum Hum features 12 sound engines which range from simple sawtooth and square waves with lowpass filtering, to various wavetable and FM engines and more complex setups like bass, chords, and melody. There are also 12 different built-in scales to play with. Each of the three voices has a triangular touchpad that lets you control the timbre and volume simultaneously. Each voice also offers a Frequency knob for setting the lowest possible note, as well as a Random knob that sets the probability of notes being played for each clock pulse. The Tone knob affects the timbre of all three voices simultaneously. What it does exactly depends on the selected sound engine and the tone can also be randomized for subtle to drastic sonic variations at each clock pulse. Moreover, Crum Hum features built-in delay, reverb, and overdrive effects, as well as an LFO that can modulate the frequency, tone, or volume. There’s an internal clock generator, but it’s also possible to sync the synth to an external clock source. Most parameters can be controlled via MIDI CC (see the user manual for more details). In addition to a stereo audio output, Crum Hum features a CV output that corresponds to the touchpads, allowing for expressive control of other modular instruments.Features:• 3 x melodic voices with expressive touch control• 12 x different sound engines• Generative & randomized melodic and chord generation• 12 x different scales• Built-in delay, reverb, overdrive and LFO• 3.5mm CV output• 3.5mm Clock input• Send and receive Midi sequencing and Midi CC.

This is the DIY Desktop version of this unit together with a metal case and dust cover. You can use it also as an Eurorack module. Plinky is an 8 voice expressive polyphonic touch synthesizer that specializes in fragile, melancholic sounds, designed by mmalex.Think of it as an eight stringed instrument, with eight vertical monophonic strips. You can play it straight away on its 64 main pads. Each of the eight strings has 4 oscillators or sampler grains, detuned by the touch of your fingers, white noise, two ADSR envelopes and a resonant 2-pole low-pass gate. Plinky also has a global delay, reverb, high pass filter and saturation along with a simple mixer, arpeggiator, sequencer and sampler. It supports four external CV modulation sources, each with their own LFO.Plinky was released in 2021, then hit hard by the chip crisis. In coordination with Plinky’s creator mmalex, Making Sound Machines are bringing back Plinky both as assembled unit and as a beginner-friendly DIY Kit.Plinky v3 integrates TRS MIDI input and output directly on-board, so you sequence polyphonic chords externally and play a melodic line on top on its touch surface. The revision also upgrades to USB-C, optimizes the build experience, and introduces improvements to the audio path.Works as standalone unit with USB-C power or Eurorack power cable. DIY-Kit-Type:SMD-Kit-1. This is a Do-It-Yourself kit, not an assembled module. The kit includes all parts to build the module. All SMD parts are pre-soldered, only trough-hole parts to solder.
