Plinky 12 Toadstep is a four-track step sequencer and expressive synthesizer built for acid lines, funky riffs, generative melodies and live pattern creation. Created by Toadstool Tech, the designer behind the Ectocore Eurorack module, Toadstep brings a fast and playful sequencing workflow to the Plinky 12 platform.
The 16 × 16 RGB pressure-sensitive touch matrix becomes a direct performance surface for programming, shaping and transforming sequences. Its four-track structure makes it easy to build rhythmic basslines, evolving melodic patterns and self-generating musical ideas while keeping the workflow immediate and hands-on.
Toadstep uses the Plinky 12 synth engine, combining sample playback and wavetable synthesis with filtering, wavefolding, envelopes, XY control, motion-recording LFOs and a powerful modulation matrix. With CV, MIDI, USB audio and SD card support, it works as a standalone instrument, a modular companion or a compact sequencing hub for external gear.
