Erica Synths - Bullfrog

available

Exploding Shed's meaning is: „When you start out into synths and synthesis, Bullfrog is worth every cent for the synth itself and the provided brilliant learning materials. You'll go home with lots of knowledge!“Created by Erica Synths & Richie Hawtin, Bullfrog is an educational electronic music instrument designed to captivate and inspire both youth and professionals alike. Bullfrog invites you to unlock musicality while combining the thrill of electronic music production with a comprehensive learning experience.Bullfrog is a classical subtractive synthesizer - it consists of several “modules” for sound generation - VCO, NOISE GENERATOR - and treatment - VCF, VCA/DELAY, as well as “modules” that generate control and modulation signals to control them - ENVELOPE GENERATORS and SAMPLE & HOLD. The Bullfrog will not make the sound on its own unless it is patched - using eurorack patch cables to interconnect the “modules” or by inserting voice cards that create internal connections between the “modules” in a specific way and add extra functionality, like sampler/looper, sequencer, groovebox, etc. This approach better helps to understand the functionality of a subtractive synthesizer and the principles of sound design with instruments like these. What’s included:• BULLFROG synthesizer• Universal 12VDC wall wart adapter• User manual• 10 patch cables• 3 pre-patched voice cards: Sequencer, Acid Bassline, Sampler Looper• 3 DIY voice cardsIn order to provide a well-rounded understanding of the functionality of this synthesizer and sound synthesis in general, a comprehensive user manual is created to accompany the learning process. Use the buttons below to get to the project pages.Features:• Fully analogue design• Highly accurate voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) that tracks great over 8 octaves• Manually adjustable and voltage controlled waveshapes - sine-shark fin and pulse wave with pulse width modulation (PWM)• Zener diode-based noise generator• Resonant lowpass voltage controlled filter (VCF)• Voltage controlled amplifier (VCA) with adjustable offset• Delay effect with adjustable delay time and feedback amount• Two looping attack-sustain-release envelope generators (EG)• Sample & Hold circuit with an individual clock• Manual gate button• Voicecard slot• Built in speaker• DIN5 MIDI input• USB connector• Dimensions: 40 x 385 x 210 mm• Weight: 1.8 kg

LeafAudio - Field Amp

available

Field Amp is LeafAudio's solution for the world of body sound transmission: recording the world with contact microphones and geophones. After releasing our Microphonic Soundbox we quickly noticed that we hit a blind spot. Many sound designers praised the clean and noise-free amplification of it, but had not necessarily use for the Soundbox itself. We heard you and developed a product on its own - the Field Amp. When you want the Soundbox amp without the actual box, Field Amp will be your new best friend! It's perfect for sound design work or musical applications in the studio, field recording, sound installations and possibly much more.Quality amplification & power management circuitry. No noise or beeping can be heard or seen in the spectrum, not even above the hearing range, which would come into focus later during sound manipulation processes. You can record with high sampling rates, transpose the audio by a lot and enjoy your pure sound. Just the clear, pristine audio you want to capture with your contact microphones.Optimised for travelling. The small unit is fully portable, light, offers many mounting possibilities. A professional case is included, which also can carry your contact mics, batteries and cables.Body sound transmission vs. airborne sound. We are used to listen to the world from our own human hearing perspective. Sound travels through air before it hits the diaphragm of our ear or a microphone. By using contact microphones you switch the hearing perspective from listening to the outside of materials to listening from within materials. This shift is a massive trick for your sound design, which you should try! There is a whole world of sound that normally keeps hidden.Field Amp is optimised for Hi-Z signals like contact mics and geophones. It also acts as an impedance converter with a powerful output signal. No loss of signal quality when you keep the wiring short between microphones and the input. The output is a strong signal and you don't have to worry about a few meters of cable. We recommend using the shielded contact microphones by LeafAudio. Generally you can try contact mics with our pre-amp, as well as geophones, hydrophones, or guitar pickups. If you want to use geophones with XLR connnector like LOM, make sure to read the manual and buy the additional special adaptor cable! We also offer adaptors for the output side, please have a look here in the shop.Features:• Low-Noise pre-amp for contact mics, geophones etc.• Case included• 9V DC power supply or battery• USB-C to barrel connector adapter cable included• Up to ~50x adjustable gain• 1 mono input• 2 mono outputs (one -12 dB)• All connections 3.5 mm (1/8") mono jack• 12 x 12 x 3.4 cm• 410 g (incl. case & USB-C to barrel cable)• 1/4"-UNC mount on top and bottom for camera tripods etc.

Music Thing Modular - 8mu MIDI-Controller

available

Pocket-sized MIDI controller with built in Accelerometer! The 8mu is a pocket-sized MIDI controller (slightly smaller than a credit card!) with eight faders that can send messages via MIDI. The 8mu also has a built in accelerometer which measures how the device is being held. This creates eight more control signals, mapped to gestures like “lift the front” or “turn me over”. There are four tiny buttons along the top edge, which can be configured to send MIDI notes (like a keyboard) or control signals.MIDI data is sent via a 3.5mm TRS MIDI output, which can be Type A or Type B, and via USB-C. Only standard USB data lines are used, so it should work on any USB computer with an adaptor. The device is also powered via USB. 8mu can store 8 banks of CC settings which can be accessed using the left and right buttons on each side of the device.8mu has a web editor where you can edit all the settings: Launch the 8mu Editor, and there is a quickstart guide printed on the back or get a quickstart PDF by the buttons below. The 8mu design was inspired by the 16n project but the hardware is quite different. The editor is a modified version of the 16n editor by Tom Armitage. 8mu cannot send i2c or CV, but it’s designed to be open and hackable and can be re-programmed in Arduino or Circuit Python code.Features:• Size: 81 x 47 mm• The body is 13 mm tall, or 24 mm with the faders and fader caps• It weighs 65 gDIY-Kit-Type:SMD-Kit-1. TubeOhm - Jeannie

only 2 left

Jeannie is an 8-voice polyphonic DIY synthesizer by TubeOhm’s Andre’ Laska and Rolf Degen, who also worked with Sonic Potions and others. They really took their time to develop it during the past few years and now here is it, currently released in small batches. If it is out of stock, it will come back soon after.Jeannie features 2 Oscillators, Noise, 2 Envelopes, a Multimode Filter, Waveshaper, 2 LFOs, Ring Modulator, FM, XOR, OR, and a Step Sequencer. The Oscillators can run independently or synced and feature the impressive amount of 945 different waveforms each! 2048 sounds programs can be stored on the SD Card.New to the latest firmware is an adjustable Waveshaper per voice. Unlike in many other synths, the Waveshaper is located after the filter, what gives extremely interesting timbres and has its advantages. The synth contains a digital effect processor with 14 different, adjustable effects.TubeOhm are constantly improving the firmware at the moment, so you can expect updates and new features during the near future. This is definitely an extremely interesting DIY project with a high price/performance ratio. Hopefully a little community will grow over time around that nice piece of gear.It is coming with an acrylic case, but Erica Synths are manufacturing a very nice aluminium case for Jeannie, which can only be ordered at Erica: https://t1p.de/3n2ofDIY-Kit-Type:SMD-Kit-1.
