LeafAudio - Field Amp

Field Amp is LeafAudio's solution for the world of body sound transmission: recording the world with contact microphones. It provides high-gain, noise-free amplification and impedance conversion to ensure the best possible sound quality from your contact mics.

After releasing our Microphonic Soundbox, we quickly realized we’d hit a sweet spot. Many sound designers praised its clean, noise-free amplification - even if they didn’t need the Soundbox itself. So we listened and created a standalone solution: the Field Amp. If you want the Soundbox amp without the box, the Field Amp is your new best friend. Perfect for studio work, field recording, sound installations, and creative sound design of all kinds.

Quality amplification & power management circuitry. No noise or beeping can be heard or seen in the spectrum, not even above the hearing range, which would come into focus later during sound manipulation processes. You can record with high sampling rates, transpose the audio by a lot and enjoy your pure sound. Just the clear, pristine audio you want to capture with your contact microphones.

Optimised for travelling. The small unit is fully portable, light, offers many mounting possibilities. A professional case is included, which also can carry your contact mics, batteries and cables.

Field Amp is optimised for Hi-Z signals of contact microphones. It also acts as an impedance converter with a powerful output signal. No loss of signal quality when you keep the wiring short between microphones and the input. The output is a strong signal and you don't have to worry about a few meters of cable.

We recommend using the shielded contact microphones by LeafAudio. Generally you can try contact mics with our pre-amp, hydrophones, or guitar pickups. We offer separate adapters for both input and output to ensure compatibility with all your devices.
