Plinky+

Plinky+ is the enhanced evolution of the beloved Plinky DIY synthesizer, created by mmalex and thoughtfully upgraded in collaboration with Making Sound Machines. It retains full firmware compatibility with the original, while introducing major hardware improvements that elevate its playability, durability, and connectivity.

Designed for hands-on expressiveness and modular integration, Plinky+ combines a refined interface with the same lush digital audio engine that made the original a favorite among sound explorers.

Upgraded Features:

• Expanded Touch Surface
All audio and CV jacks have been relocated to the back, freeing up the entire front panel for a larger playing area. The new 22 mm spacing per strip offers keyboard-like ergonomics for precise pitch and pressure control. The redesigned layout also features a full 16 cm strip length for detailed performance gestures.

• Larger OLED Display
A high-contrast, wide-format white-on-black OLED screen replaces the smaller original, offering improved visibility from various angles – perfect for live use and in-studio sessions.

• Sturdy Metal Enclosure
Plinky+ comes housed in a durable, black powder-coated metal case that keeps it steady on your desk or performance rig. At just under 1 kg, it's lightweight yet solid.

• Dust Protection Included
A clear PET-G lid is included to keep your instrument safe from dust when not in use.

• Expanded Connectivity
Plinky+ integrates the full feature set of the original Plinky plus the ABXY CV outputs from the expander – now built in. All I/O is now rear-mounted for cleaner cable management and ergonomic play.

• Improved Sound Output
The analog output section for line, headphone, and Eurorack levels has been completely redesigned for enhanced clarity and dynamic range. Stereo outs now use balanced 6.3 mm jacks, and a dedicated volume knob on the front panel gives you quick access to output control.

• Battery-Ready (Optional)
While not shipped with a battery, Plinky+ includes a power circuit and connector for retrofitting a battery pack – ideal for portable setups.

DIY-Kit-Type:
SMD-Kit-1. This is a Do-It-Yourself kit, not an assembled module. The kit includes all parts to build the module. All parts are pre-soldered. It's a dry assembly with a screwdriver, similar to the Moog Mavis and Werkstatt.
