Halo is a compact quad LFO for Eurorack systems, designed to deliver a wide range of modulation sources in just 10HP. With four analog CV-controlled LFO channels and up to 16 simultaneous outputs, it provides everything from classic cyclic movement to complex logic-based modulation.Each channel offers manual and CV control over frequency, with selectable range settings covering slow cycles of more than two minutes up to audio-rate modulation at 80Hz. Triangle and square outputs are available per channel, giving you immediate access to classic LFO shapes for modulation, rhythm, movement and animation.The dedicated Logic section expands Halo far beyond a standard quad LFO. Multi Channel Sound SourceVCOs are probably the most popular modules in the Eurorack world.At its most common form, an oscillator module creates different basic waveforms by shaping its core, which gives us several timbres sharing the same frequency.On Sena, we decided to reorganize those principles. We have the basic waveforms as on any VCO, but each has an independent core and frequency control. In addition, the tuning inputs of each channel are daisy-chained, allowing to create easy transpositions or detuning between them.To maximize stability and tracking accuracy, every channel is designed around the famous 3340 oscillator core, present in many legendary synths like the Roland SH-101 and Jupiter-6, Oberheim OB-Xa, and the Sequential Prophet-5.On top of that, the module counts with four dedicated CV-controlled Modifiers to extend the timbral range of each core: a two-stage Folder for the Sine, a Trapezoid shaper for the Triangle, a Phase modulator for the Saw, and a half-range Pulse-width modulator for the Square.The addition of a complete analog Noise Bank makes Sena a super powerful and compact sound source. Trace is a four-channel Interpolating Scanner created in collaboration with Ben Wilson “DivKid”.Introduced by Jurgen Haible in 1994 and later improved by Donald Tillman in 1999, the Interpolating Scanning circuit is a hybrid between a signal selector and a crossfader.The circuit morphs between the inputs, fading from one to the next as the voltage control rises. Chaotic voltage generator in 3HP. It is a unique module because it has never existed as an electronic music instrument until now. The module is based on a circuit from a paper called “A simple chaotic circuit with a light-emitting diode” written by Volos, Wang, Jafari, and Kapitaniak.Diode Chaos produces 3 phases of interrelated morphing voltages including a chaotic trigger out. The range is 20-30 seconds a cycle up to audio rate, although only the X out and TRIG out go up to audio rate. The frequency is controlled by the RATE knob. Each output exhibits different behavior at different rate settings. X,Y, and Z outs like to stay in the 4vpp range although at different RATE settings the outs can reach 10vpp. The TRIG out chaotically releases 0-10v triggers although sometimes it will spit out smaller voltage peaks.LED soldermask windows provide constant display of positive and negative voltage crossings. Differences between chaos and random (some quoted and summarized material from Ian Fritz’s site) chaos is “highly irregular, but still contained within a finite region (the “strange attractor”)”. The Dual VCO is a 4 HP Dual Voltage Controlled Analog Oscillator Eurorack Module.Each VCO has square, triangle, and sine wave out, coarse and fine tuning controls, a control voltage input, and a switch for selecting exponential or linear cv in. When a control voltage is inserted, the fine tune control becomes an attenuator for the incoming voltage. There is also a PCB trimmer(at the top of the motherboard) to adjust the spread(gain) of random voltages out from “scalar” (low gain, counter clock wise) to large interval jumping(high gain, clock wise). All analog white, pink, and brown(red) noise 10vpp~(dependent on lower PCB trim). Smooth(infra red) random cv out at 10vpp with 2 range settings from wiggly with (more events, switch in left position) to almost random rise and fall envelope behavior (less events, switch in right position). White noise pcb trimmer sets the amplitude of the noise which in turn influences the rate of the infra out.
