Mal-2 is a random signal generator mainly intended as CV modulation source. It has 2 modes of operation to provide you with smooth random goodness. Imagine Eris herself lends you a third hand to keep your patches interesting. In the first mode the CHANGE knob morphs from a cubic interpolated (sine like shaped) random signal to a random walk function that could make a wallstreet broker delirious with joy.In the second mode the CHANGE knob sets the self similarity. On the minimum setting the signal is completely random. On the maximum setting the random sequence is locked to a repeating, identical 8 step sequence. In between the sequence seamlessly morphs to new shapes over time. This gives you a random CV where you can shape the bounds in which the chaos unfolds and goes far beyond a slew limited white noise.DIY-Kit-Type:THT-Kit-1. Horrorscape Synthesizer - sculpting feedback into sonic art!Audrey II is a horrorscape synthesizer designed for fearless exploration of feedback. Unpredictable yet compelling, it transforms chaotic sound into immersive soundscapes. From deep, haunting drones to screeching, otherworldly tones, Audrey II is a sonic beast like no other.Feedback Synthesis? What is feedback, really? It’s that magical moment when sound loops on itself, evolving into something wild. With Audrey II, we’re taking feedback to the next level using Karplus-Strong synthesis—a fancy term for turning short bursts of noise into rich, self-sustaining tones. Think digital strings, but way cooler.Digital WitchcraftSome say analog is the only way to get that sound… We were surprised too when we heard the first burst of noise coming through our headphones. That warmth, the grit, the unpredictability—it was all there. But here’s the twist: Audrey II is 100% digital, running on the almighty Daisy Seed platform.Built from the ground up to emulate analog chaos, digital bits power every nuance of Audrey II’s feedback, distortion, and reverb-drenched echoes. It’s pure digital magic that doesn’t just imitate analog—it embraces and amplifies it. What you hear isn’t just a close approximation; it’s a whole new breed of sound that pushes digital synthesis into uncharted territory.Pristine SoundPowered by the Daisy Seed microcontroller, Audrey II delivers 96kHz / 24-bit audio with the speed of an ARM Cortex-M7 at 480MHz. Equipped with 64MB of SDRAM, it handles complex feedback, drones, and effects seamlessly, pushing digital synthesis into rich, analog-like territory. The Signal Flow01. Karplus-Strong Synthesis & DistortionThe signal begins with Karplus-Strong synthesis, a method of string synthesis that creates resonant, droning tones—adding layers of harmonics to emulate organic vibrations, while feedback and distortion weave in raw, aggressive edges.02. ReverbNext, the signal passes through a rich, spacious reverb, allowing the drone and feedback to bloom, creating haunting and immersive atmospheres.03. FiltersFollowing the reverb, Audrey II utilizes high-pass and low-pass filters with a body control to shape the sound further, revealing hidden overtones and harmonic textures that can add either warmth or an eerie sharpness to the feedback.04. Tape Delay EmulationFinally, the signal reaches a tape delay emulator that further degrades and expands the sound, adding layers of movement, modulation, and a classic tape echo feel that’s both nostalgic and unpredictable.05. Stereo OutputTo top it all off, Audrey II’s stereo output widens the soundstage, creating a sense of depth and space that immerses you in rich, layered textures. With stereo feedback flowing through the chain, each element takes on new dimensions, allowing you to push the boundaries of sonic space.Driven & Open SourceAudrey II is a collaborative project born from the Synthux Academy community, where music technology enthusiasts, designers, and engineers come together to push creative boundaries. Developed by Nick Donadson from Infrasonic Audio and designed by Roey Tsemah, founder of Synthux Academy, Audrey II embodies the spirit of exploration and innovation that drives this community.Audrey II’s firmware is available on our GitHub, inviting anyone to dive into the code, make modifications, or build upon its foundation. This open-source approach empowers makers not only to experiment with Audrey II’s sound but to shape its future, contribute enhancements, and share discoveries with the Synthux Academy community. Audrey II is a testament to the creativity that can emerge from collective knowledge and a shared passion for instrument design.Features:• Karplus Strong synth engine• Reverb amount• Reverb size• High and low pass filters• Tape delay emulation• Stereo out• Built on the Daisy Seed• Open sourceDIY-Kit-Type:THT-Kit-1. The Threetom Modular Doppio is a compact stereo amplifier, drive, and soft limiter module. Doppio helps complex and dynamic stereo sounds to find their place in a modular synthesizer context, where signals are hot, and headroom is extremely limited. Doppio does this by implementing a compact, yet flexible, soft-knee limiter. The limiter is specifically designed for eurorack levels and avoids the need for unnecessary make-up gain, resulting in a lower noise floor.Doppio offers three different gain settings (x1, x5, x21), and three different ratios (linear, drive, and limit). In addition to this Doppio has gain and volume knobs for more precise control. Different combinations of these settings cater to applications like saturating complex stereo signals without turning them into mush, end-of-chain limiting, and boosting line level signals to eurorack level, while still retaining enough oomph to also saturate them nicely. Finding the right settings is made easy by DOPPIO’s unique coffee-bean-shaped indicator lights.Even though Doppio’s architecture is stereo, that doesn’t mean it has no uses on mono signals: Either process two mono signals with identical settings, or chain the two channels to form a two-stage high-gain mono drive. Finally, it’s important to note that Doppio is DC-coupled and can also be used to process CV signals. In summary: Doppio is to your signals what a double espresso is to you – it makes you bigger and bolder – and you know you’re hooked when the withdrawal symptoms kick in.Features:• Three different maximum levels of gain: x1 (0dB), x5 (+14dB) and x21 (+26dB)• Three different soft-clipping modes: Drive mode, Off / linear mode and Limit mode• Caffeine knob for fine control over the gain applied to the inputs• Volume control for post-gain attenuation• Coffee-bean-shaped indicator lights make finding the desired settings easy• Reverse power protection• 4-layer PCB design with completely separate of audio supply rails and groundDIY-Kit-Type:SMD-Kit-1. The Threetom Modular “Mixing Flask” is a utility mixer offering mix-bus limiting and a cornucopia of indicator lights integrated behind a unique chemical lab-inspired front panel.I designed Mixing Flask as a solution to my main three gripes with conventional utility mixers:• Mixing too hot is too easy, leading to hard clipping on the mix-bus. And even when there’s an indicator light to warn you when this is happening, there are no features to actively prevent it.• Utility mixers usually only offer unity gain, so when you have a weak input signal (like a MTM Radio Music), you’re out of luck• They’re nauseatingly boringMIXING FLASK provides solutions to these annoyances in the following ways:• I’ve implemented a soft-clipping limiting circuit on the mix-bus (inspired by DOPPIO). The highest setting prevents the mix-bus from hard clipping altogether in favor of warm saturation.• All inputs have a gain of +6dB allowing you to better equalize between volumes while maintaining a hot mix-bus output• The myriad of indicator lights and front-panel graphics make you feel like a mad scientist in your modular chemical lab. I bet you won’t find another utility mixer that makes mixing more exciting than Mixing Flask!Use cases:• Mix oscillator waveforms without the risk of hard-clipping• Mix CV signals while keeping an eye on what’s coming in and going out• Give a gentle boost to weak input signals (e.g. from a sampler module)• Have a utility mixer in your case that’s interesting to look at, and doesn’t bore you to death!Features:• Three different flavors of saturation on the mix output (hard clipping, soft/hard clipping, or soft-limiting)• Three inputs with up to +6dB of gain, and bipolar monitor lights• One mix output with three-stage bipolar monitor lights (signal present, signal nominal, hard-clipping warning)• Backlit chemical-lab-inspired front-panel graphicsDIY-Kit-Type:SMD-Kit-1. The MS-22 is a dual voltage controlled filter, inspired by the classic Korg MS-20 filter, with an innovative modulation matrix and one of the highest function-to-hp ratios in the land of Eurorack. This module was inspired by many pleasant chats with tech journalist Steve O’Hear. Head over here for a full product description and demos. The MS-22 contains two dedicated filter circuits, one low-pass and the other a high-pass. These are configured in series, the low-pass going into the high-pass. This configuration allows for a unique duophonic fighting resonance behaviour (see this demo video). The cutoff frequencies of both filters can be CV’ed. Compared to most bread-and-butter MS-20 clones, the MS-22 is twice the amount of filter condensed down into half the package (4HP).Features:• Dual VCF inspired by the Korg MS-20 OTA filter• Low-pass into high-pass configuration• Innovative modulation matrix allows CV control over all parameters• Cut-off frequencies can be linked, resulting in a band pass filter with controllable bandwidth• Bipolar monitoring LEDs for the LP, HP, resonance and gain CV signals• One of the best functionality-to-size ratios in Eurorack with a width of 4 HP and a depth of 45 mmDIY-Kit-Type:SMD-Kit-1.
