Jolin - Krono

Product information "Jolin - Krono"

KRONO is a clock and rhythm generator module offering 12 independent outputs split into two groups, packed with 10 versatile modes ranging from Euclidean to chaotic rhythms. Designed for creative timing control, it features weighted tap tempo, external sync, state persistence across power cycles and a unique swap function for inverting output group behavior. With visual feedback LEDs, fixed base clock outputs, USB-C programming, and open-source firmware, KRONO is a flexible and inspiring tool for rhythmic experimentation.

Features:
• 12 Clock Outputs divided into two groups (A/B)
• 10 Operational Modes covering standard, mathematical, musical, probabilistic, and chaotic rhythms.
• Weighted Tap Tempo & External Sync
• State Persistence: Saves Tempo, Active Mode, and Swap State for each mode, retaining them across power cycles.
• Calculation Swap: Inverts functions between groups via the MOD button or external gate.
• Visual Feedback: the Status LED indicates the active mode; the Auxiliary LED signals state changes (tap, mode select, swap).
• Fixed Base Clock Outputs: Outputs 1A and 1B always provide the unmodified main clock.
• Hardware Platform: Based on CPU STM32F411.
• Open Source: Firmware developed with PlatformIO (C/C++), customizable.
• Programming: Via USB-C DFU.
• “whatever” power connector – don’t mind the polarity, it’s protected eighter way.

Manufacturer "Jolin"
Jolin is an audio electronics lab specialized in eurorack modules, sound sculptures and DIY workshops. The project was founded in Milan, Italy in the summer of 2018 by Federico Intrisano, hardware designer, and Pedro Ferragut, software engineer. The aim is promoting electronic music made with analog and digital synthesizers. Although our main activity is research, we also build hand-crafted instruments and DIY kits with educational aim.
