At its core, IROI combines a stereo multimode filter, fast digital VCA, 3-band resonator, 2-tap echo and experimental reverb. The filter/VCA block can be placed at different points in the signal chain, allowing flexible tone shaping before or after other processing stages. The multimode filter offers low-pass, high-pass, band-pass and comb modes, ranging from smooth spectral control to metallic, animated coloration.
The resonator adds physical presence and harmonic depth, while the echo and reverb sections create anything from lo-fi repeats to wide, immersive spaces. The Spacetime control moves smoothly between short, long and inverted reverb behavior, opening up dense, blooming atmospheres with a strong sonic identity.
IROI also features a powerful modulation and mapping system. Parameters can be randomized, modulated or CV-controlled with adjustable depth, while the internal LFO, envelope follower and seven selectable wave shapes allow sounds to move, react and reshape themselves over time. Global Mod Level control makes it possible to scale all active mappings at once, keeping complex modulation playable and controlled.

Befaco is an Eurorack manufacturer that also offers DIY kits, organizes workshops and releases their designs under Creative Commons license.
In February 2010 Befaco was created as an open hardware platform focusing on professional DIY musical hardware, materializing the previous electronic, musical and artistic research of its members.
Our main activity has been developing synthesizer modules in eurorack
format and making them available in workshops. All this research is
published under CC-NC-SA License, so people can download the schematics,
and technical assembly guides, to make their own variations of the
projects for personal and educative purposes. Also build all our designs
during our regular workshops in cities as Barcelona, Madrid, London or
Berlin.
During the past twelve years, apart of these regular four
cities, we have visited cities as Tokyo, Kyoto, Toronto, Montreal,
Chicago, Frankfurt, Helsinki, Lyon, Stuttgart and Amsterdam, amongst
many other European cities.
These workshops are a huge test playground where we can track each module being built by different worldwide users, get direct feedback and quickly improve them with, develop new ones, or adapt these instruments to users demands constantly.
Direct contact with DIY enthusiasts allows an implication of users in the structure, allowing them to design their own modules and develop them in a professional way. This has developed into an incubation environment for several new modular initiatives, allowing different makers to start their own similar projects.
Befaco initiative is possible thanks to the support of Hangar, an artistic production centre in Barcelona, Barcelona city hall and the titanic work by the whole Befaco team.

Important Notice & Intended Use
• This kit is intended for adult users experienced in electronics and modular synthesis.
• Assembly, including soldering, is required.

• The completed module is intended for installation in a Eurorack-compatible synthesizer system powered by ±12V and +5V.
• Use outside this scope may result in malfunction, damage, or safety risks.
General Warnings
Electrical Hazards:
• Ensure the power supply matches the module’s specified voltage and current ratings (refer to the product manual). Incorrect voltage can damage the module and pose a safety risk.
• Never connect or disconnect the module while the Eurorack system is powered on.
• Wrong polarity can damage your module or system. Make sure the module is connected with correct polarity.
Heat Generation:
• The module may generate heat during operation. Ensure proper ventilation within your Eurorack case to prevent overheating.
Sharp Edges:
• The module’s faceplate and components may have sharp edges. Handle with care to avoid cuts or scratches.
Small Parts:
• Contains small parts that could cause a choking hazard. Keep away from children and pets.
Compatibility:
• This module is designed specifically for Eurorack-compatible systems. Connecting it to non-compatible systems may result in damage or malfunction.
Assembly Requirements
• Soldering skills are required to complete the module.
• Ensure a clean, well-lit and ventilated workspace free of flammable materials during assembly.
• Use appropriate tools and safety equipment, such as eye protection.
Testing
• Test the module thoroughly for shorts or incorrect assembly before powering it in your Eurorack system. When the unit has malfunctions due to incorrect assembly, the entire Eurorack system might be damaged. It's a good idea to test it in a separate case with only that single module.
• Use a multimeter or other appropriate tools to confirm proper functionality.
Installation and Use
• Mount securely in a Eurorack case using the provided screws.
• Use only the included or manufacturer-recommended power cable.
• Connect only when the power is off.
• Follow the module's user guide for instructions on operation. Do not exceed the input/output limits specified.
