The CubuSynth 6xLevel module is a 8 HP passive attenuator, which allows scaling of CV and audio signals. The inputs are normalized from the outputs above, which allows passive multiplication with attenuation. The normalized path is attenuated by the potentiometer before, so you can also create very subtle changes (e.g. Fine tune a VCO). The silver lines on the front panel mark the normalisation routing.Note, that it is a passive module, for multiplying non-precise voltages. Mixing might be more of a utility function in a modular synthesizer – but this doesn’t necessarily mean it has to be dull and boring. Case in point: this super simple three-channel mixer with built-in diode distortion will make your patches sound delightfully rough.We – Erica Synths and Moritz Klein – have developed a series of educational DIY kits under the brand name mki x es.EDU with one specific goal in mind: to teach people with little-to-no prior experience how to design analog synthesizer circuits from scratch. What you’ll find in the box is not simply meant to be soldered together and then disappear in your rack. Instead, we want to take you through the circuit design process step by step, explaining every choice we’ve made and how it impacts the finished module.In total, we have developed 9 kits to build a fully-featured modular monosynth: a sequencer, a VCO, a wavefolder, a noise/S&H module, a mixer, a VCF, an Envelope generator, a dual VCA, and an output stereo mixer with a headphone amplifier. Additionally, an affordable eurorack case with a DIY PSU will also be available. While these kits are easy to build, we did not compromise on design and functionality. Expandable 4 channel VCA based stereo mixer with tone shaping and FX bus. Strips is also expandable! You can add a second strips, connected to the first via a 16 pin to 16 pin cable. The cable powers the second Strips and gives you 8 channels to play with. The second Strips accesses the first Strips FX bus. Wonderland is an 8×8 active patchbay/matrix mixer/switcher for both audio and control voltages.Any of the 8 inputs can be patched to any of the 8 outputs simply by pressing the corresponding switches. A patched signal will appear at both normal and inverted outputs simultaneously.A single input can be patched to a single output. A single input can be patched to multiple outputs. Multiple inputs can be patched to a single output. Multiple inputs can be patched to multiple outputs.Each input features a micro-attenuator which can be set with a small screwdriver. This space saving feature allows you to reduce the volume of an incoming signal without having to resort to external attenuators. If you add many inputs to one output you will of course cause clipping (which may or may not be desirable!), the micro-attenuators are your on-board way around this. I find it useful to leave the micro-attenuators set to 50% (which is how they come pre-set at delivery). Of course, their size is a little bit of a compromise, but they are a useful feature nonetheless. AGOGO is an octal analogue vactrol-based low pass gate and mixer in a cascade configuration.
