The SetonixSynth Noise Complaint! is a passive utility module which provides a bank of four passive attenuators which can be used with audio or CV. Each of the Noise Complaint’s four inputs are normalized (left to right), so that with nothing patched to a channel’s input it can be used as an attenuated mult, distributing up to four versions of one input signal and opening up myriad control possibilities, such as use of Channel One as a Macro control over the three other outputs. The Threetom Modular “Mixing Flask” is a utility mixer offering mix-bus limiting and a cornucopia of indicator lights integrated behind a unique chemical lab-inspired front panel.I designed Mixing Flask as a solution to my main three gripes with conventional utility mixers:• Mixing too hot is too easy, leading to hard clipping on the mix-bus. And even when there’s an indicator light to warn you when this is happening, there are no features to actively prevent it.• Utility mixers usually only offer unity gain, so when you have a weak input signal (like a MTM Radio Music), you’re out of luck• They’re nauseatingly boringMIXING FLASK provides solutions to these annoyances in the following ways:• I’ve implemented a soft-clipping limiting circuit on the mix-bus (inspired by DOPPIO). The highest setting prevents the mix-bus from hard clipping altogether in favor of warm saturation.• All inputs have a gain of +6dB allowing you to better equalize between volumes while maintaining a hot mix-bus output• The myriad of indicator lights and front-panel graphics make you feel like a mad scientist in your modular chemical lab. The 2M is a dual three channel mixer in 6 HP with volume controls over all the inputs as well as the final output. As its design has been specially focused on audio applications, the input potentiometers are audio-taper type while the output ones are linear. Low distortion / high quality audio operational amplifiers have been selected in order to achieve clean audio mixing, but is also DC-coupled, so it can perform CV signal mixing as well. The 7J is a compact joystick controller module. For each axis the joystick can work as an attenuator or attenuverter, selectable via unipolar or bipolar mode switches. The inputs (normalled to +5V) have dedicated attenuators and both X and Y outputs are equipped with continuously variable offset control (-5 to +5V) for fine-tuning the voltage ranges independently. Bipolar Attenuator & DC SourceAttenuators are very useful modules on every system. Taking control over the amplitude and polarity of the signals becomes necessary when we want to have full control over our sounds.Asset has been designed with compact systems in mind. Is small enough to not take much space on the rack but also powerful, providing six channels with individual controls over each circuit parameter. Some design decisions make Asset a different approach from the classical “Attenuverter” circuits:The pots work in a classical unipolar way, allowing to shut down the signal completely as you don’t need to deal with its center position. It also gives you more precision as the whole range of the pot is used either to attenuate or invert, not both.Having manual switches to either invert the signal and the offset is useful when we just want to invert the signal, keeping its original amplitude intact.Input chaining adds tons of flexibility to the patch allowing the use of the same signal multiple times in different ways.
