Wonderland is an 8×8 active patchbay/matrix mixer/switcher for both audio and control voltages.Any of the 8 inputs can be patched to any of the 8 outputs simply by pressing the corresponding switches. A patched signal will appear at both normal and inverted outputs simultaneously.A single input can be patched to a single output. A single input can be patched to multiple outputs. Multiple inputs can be patched to a single output. Multiple inputs can be patched to multiple outputs. Each input features a micro-attenuator which can be set with a small screwdriver. This space saving feature allows you to reduce the volume of an incoming signal without having to resort to external attenuators. If you add many inputs to one output you will of course cause clipping (which may or may not be desirable!), the micro-attenuators are your on-board way around this. I find it useful to leave the micro-attenuators set to 50% (which is how they come pre-set at delivery). Of course, their size is a little bit of a compromise, but they are a useful feature nonetheless. Wonderland’s sister module Looking Glass includes full size input attenuators as well as LED status indicators.Features:• 8 inputs (1 through to 8), each with micro-attenuators (which can be set with a small screwdriver)• 8 buffered inverted outputs (A through to H) which are 180o out of phase with the inputs• 8 buffered normal outputs (A through to H) which are in phase with the inputs• A switch matrix of 64 push on/push off switchesDIY-Kit-Type:THT-Kit-1. Macro ControllerKNOBI is a multi-tool able to mix, attenuate, invert, display and multiply any kind of signal. Knobi can serve a wide range of purposes thanks to its internal signal path that makes use of some of the most useful building blocks of analog synthesis: a 4-channel mixer, a three-range offset, an attenuverter, a fixed manual gate and lastly a cascading multiple derived from the output stage of Agogô.a, b, c and d are Knobi’s inputs while r is a fixed 5v reference output. The toggle switch next to d sets the range of the offset - the big knob below the meter. Connect a signal into one of the inputs to visualize its voltage value in the three digits meter. Keep in mind that this reading happens post offset and attenuverter - the smaller knob with (-) and (+) indications. The pushbutton next to x4 adds a gate of 5v to the mix: with no input connected it will act as a manual gate output. Autopatch the r reference output into one of the inputs to use Knobi as a macro controller thanks the offset knob and switch to set the range and the attenuverter.x1, x2, x3 and x4 are all cascading copies of the final signal path. Plugging a cable will break the normalization and the multiplication will reset starting from the next output. Four cables plugged in will output a copy at the same factor x1 - unity gain - making Knobi a versatile buffered multiple.Features:• Thermally compensated 5v voltage source with dedicated output.• Four channel mixer with four buffered output.• Built in 3 digits voltage meter post mix / attenuation / inversion.• Offset with a dedicated three positions range toggle.• Manual gate button tied to the mix.• 4 cascading outputs in an open design configuration.• Unique signal path: mix - attenuate - invert - add - visualize - multiplicate.• “Whatever” power connector a.k.a. don’t mind the polarity.DIY-Kit-Type:SMD-Kit-1. D3MIX by Maffez is a passive triple level-module that lets you route signals between different paths in a clever way.First, your signal is routed between ground and a point "b", allowing you to cover simple tasks like signal starvation, attenuation, splitting and passive mixing. With creative patching you can also do some pretty interesting things like asymmetric modulations, which is illustrated and explained in more detail in the manual.Another mode lets you control between individual channels and a common "node", creating multiples in a flash, realising a 3-1 mixer or a 1-9 distributor. Experimental or pragmatic? Definitely both, and fun either way!Read more info and hear audio demos on the Maffez website. https://maffez.com/?page_id=2872Maffez developed this module in dialogue with Pedro Eustache, who uses some of the gizmos in his rack during the show "The World of Hans Zimmer" and the soundtracks of "The Mandalorian" and "Avatar: The Way of Water". Maffez said he would like to donate part of the income from the module to Omas for Future.DIY-Kit-Type:THT-Kit-1. This is a Do-It-Yourself kit, not an assembled module. • Vactrol Mix combines four audio or CV signals into two channels, determined by the random sequence. It’s a great way to create stereo effects, complex waveforms or feedback loops.• This expander is 4 in, 2 out vactrol matrix mixer controlled by the Turing Machine, connected around the back by a 16 pin ribbon cable.• There are four inputs, for audio or CV sources. The four knobs set the level for each input. Next to each knob is a pair of LEDs. When the LED on the left is lit, the signal goes to the left output. When the LED on the right is lit, the signal goes to the right output. The LEDs are controlled by the Turing Machine module. The two outputs are both doubled (mult-ed) to make it easier to patch feedback loops.• Despite being less popular or widespread than Pulses or Volts, this is my favourite Turing Machine expander. It is a unique device that turns mundane source material into wild, unpredictable but rhythmically accessible patterns of sound. It’s a great way to create stereo effects, shifting drones, complex waveforms or feedback loops, and can be the heart of small (but chaotic) system.• Vactrols are electro-optical devices; a light shining on a light-dependent resistor. They have an extraordinary history, from powering the optical soundtracks on the first sound films in the 1920s to studio compressors, the tremolo in Fender guitar amps, and many of Don Buchla's 1970s synth designs. Modern vactrols are an LED pointing at a cadmium light dependent resistor, sealed together in a little black plastic box. Because the LDR reacts relatively slowly, the signals cut together smoothly, with no clicks or pops. Unfortunately, the cadmium in light dependent resistors is banned in Europe, so Vactrols are becoming harder to find.• Feedback is where this module gets really interesting. Try sending the (bottom) left and right outputs to your output mixer, and the (top) left and right outputs to spring reverbs or delays, patching the delay/reverb outputs back into input channels. Carefully ride the input levels, and you'll get snippets of feedback. The main clock speed can have a huge effect on feedback levels, because it takes a while to build up.• There are lots of Vactrol Mix audio examples in my Soundcloud: Twenty Minutes of Madness, Contact Mic Feedback and this ancient track recorded using the breadboard prototype.• The Vactrol Mix is DC coupled, so you can also rhythmically cut up DC sources; mix LFOs at different speeds with audio rate oscilllators, and frequency modulating a pair of oscillators using the two outputs.• This module was inspired by Grant Richter's Cadavre Exquis voltage controlled mixer, which was inspired by André Breton's surrealist game Exquisite Corpse. Richter's mixer also inspired the RxMx module by Make Noise.• Jonathan Higgins, on Facebook: 'There isn't a patch I don't use it on. People often thing you can only use it for crazy stereo percussion (which it is amazing at). But I also often patch all four outputs from the humpback filter into it for evolving stereo drones.'• The Vactrol Mix is a very straightforward through-hole DIY build. If you get stuck, the Github Issue List is probably the best place to start - remember to check closed issues as well as open ones.DIY-Kit-Type:THT-Kit-1. North Coast makes the Eurorack four-knob utility mixer sound great again with this minimalist design featuring just six transistors. Where a conventional mixer would typically require at least five operational amplifier units each containing a dozen or more transistors, we cut the complexity and distill mixing to its essence. This is a new design made with current components and modern manufacturing quality; but its Class A amplifiers operate on principles that go all the way to the dawn of electronic signal processing.Suitable for both audio and control voltages, with bonus features that don't compromise the minimalist philosophy: positive and negative offset; simultaneous DC- and AC-coupled outputs; maximum gain a little over unity for when you need that extra push over the cliff. It can also function as a transistor distortion effect, by offsetting the signal until it clips and then using the AC-coupled output.Features:• High-quality potentiometers with bushings fastened to the panel for wobble-free operation; conductive plastic for smooth feel• All-new design, not a clone or imitation of anything else• Classic discrete-transistor design style; DIY kit ships with silicon 2N5088 transistors for a clean modern sound, easily modifiable to use other recent or "vintage" types• No ICs!• Through-hole for easy hand construction and maintenance• No compromises on build quality: real aluminum panel, not PCB material, with colour printing; nickel and gold plating on the circuit board; film output coupling capacitor; close-tolerance metal film fixed resistors.• Fully open design - no lock-inDIY-Kit-Type:THT-Kit-1.
