GETREKT is a full analogue waveshaper - an aggressive one. Disrupt and Pieces are analog touch controls; they act like potentiometers and they keep the value once the finger is lifted from the surface.DISRUPT: controls how much the output is affected by the waveshaper circuit. At maximum it will fold and create a total harmonic distortion.PIECES: the pulse width of the resulting transformed wave. Both parameters have a dedicated reactive CV input. If connected, the touch potentiometer act as an offset of the incoming signal. The circuit is designed to invert the polarity of any given input.Features:• Clipping and folding analog waveshaper circuit.• Touch Controls on the amount of effect and PWM.• Reactive CV inputs on both parameters.• Inverts the polarity of any given input.• Works with audio and CV sources.• Single board design - extremely skiff friendly.• “Whatever” power connector a.k.a. don’t mind the polarity.DIY-Kit-Type:SMD-Kit-1. The London Drive is a 4 HP Drive/Distortion module inspired by the prestigious EMS VCS3/Synthi input gain. London Drive has two inputs and two outputs. Output 2 is a reverse phase version of Output 1, with a slightly different sonic character as well. Unlike its sibling Mini Drive, the London Drive gain knob never goes completely silent, but instead ranges from a clean signal to warmly overdriven. The module works as a gritty drive for modular level signals and works well with line level inputs as well – like a drum machine. It’s not suited as an external input for guitar.Using this module is a great way to make a polite sound source into something less polite, but always experiment with the levels! – the output can sound completely different depending on the settings and it can also be used to just add a nice bit of warmth to your input. London Drive also works very well with feedback loops – the dual inputs and differently phased outputs are designed to encourage experimentation with feedback patching. While this module doesn’t have CV in, you can either put a VCA or a filter before to modify the amount of grime, or get more experimental and try blasting an LFO or a sequence into one input to see what it does to audio in the other input.DIY-Kit-Type:SMD-Kit-1. The Mini Drive is a 4 HP Drive/Distortion module inspired by the classic Minimoog input gain. Mini Drive has two inputs which are higher and lower gain - but if you use both they’re the same level mixed. The Drive knob goes from zero/silent to lots of gain. It’s a dirty gain for modular level and works well with line level inputs – like a drum machine. It’s not suited as an external input for guitar.Using this module is a great way to make a polite sound source into something less polite, but always experiment with the levels! - the output can sound completely different depending on the settings and it can also be used to just add a nice bit of warmth to your input.Mini Drive also works very well in feedback loops. The classic minimoog trick is taking the audio output and adding it back after the oscillators, before the filter through this circuit. So the filter is in a feedback loop which will add resonance and fuzz. If you patch one output directly to an input then you can achieve feedback tones. Another idea is to patch sound (radio music, or a Osc/env/filt voice) into ‘low’ and one output to the main out. Then patch the second out to a filter, or a delay or reverb, and the output from that back into ‘high’ then turn up and add what happens. If the feedback isn’t wild, invert it with an attenuverter before going back into high. While it doesn’t have CV in you can either put a VCA or a filter before to modify the amount of grime, or get more experimental and try blasting an LFO or a sequence into one input to see what it does to audio in the other input. the outputs are passive multed together.DIY-Kit-Type:SMD-Kit-1. The Threetom Modular “Mixing Flask” is a utility mixer offering mix-bus limiting and a cornucopia of indicator lights integrated behind a unique chemical lab-inspired front panel.I designed Mixing Flask as a solution to my main three gripes with conventional utility mixers:• Mixing too hot is too easy, leading to hard clipping on the mix-bus. And even when there’s an indicator light to warn you when this is happening, there are no features to actively prevent it.• Utility mixers usually only offer unity gain, so when you have a weak input signal (like a MTM Radio Music), you’re out of luck• They’re nauseatingly boringMIXING FLASK provides solutions to these annoyances in the following ways:• I’ve implemented a soft-clipping limiting circuit on the mix-bus (inspired by DOPPIO). The highest setting prevents the mix-bus from hard clipping altogether in favor of warm saturation.• All inputs have a gain of +6dB allowing you to better equalize between volumes while maintaining a hot mix-bus output• The myriad of indicator lights and front-panel graphics make you feel like a mad scientist in your modular chemical lab. I bet you won’t find another utility mixer that makes mixing more exciting than Mixing Flask!Use cases:• Mix oscillator waveforms without the risk of hard-clipping• Mix CV signals while keeping an eye on what’s coming in and going out• Give a gentle boost to weak input signals (e.g. from a sampler module)• Have a utility mixer in your case that’s interesting to look at, and doesn’t bore you to death!Features:• Three different flavors of saturation on the mix output (hard clipping, soft/hard clipping, or soft-limiting)• Three inputs with up to +6dB of gain, and bipolar monitor lights• One mix output with three-stage bipolar monitor lights (signal present, signal nominal, hard-clipping warning)• Backlit chemical-lab-inspired front-panel graphicsDIY-Kit-Type:SMD-Kit-1. TouellSkouarn’s Kala Goanv is an inductor-based Eurorack filter that delivers an vintage tone somewhere between a phaser-like band-pass, a gnarly wah-wah and crunchy distortion. Simple in layout but rich in behavior, the Kala Goanv responds musically to hands-on tweaks. A dedicated cutoff CV input with an attenuator lets you add dynamic modulation, though the module’s frequency response is highly parametric — change one control and the whole character reshapes.Because Kala Goanv uses inductors, the circuit can pick up hum and stray electromagnetic fields; keep the module away from power transformers and noisy electronics for the cleanest results. The module is a compact, characterful filter that brings organic, wired-in vintage texture to modular patches.Features:• Inductor-based filter topology for a distinctive phaser/wa-wah/distortion character.• Large main cutoff knob with tactile vintage control.• Input and output level controls for level matching.• Highly parameter-dependent frequency behaviour – very responsive to knob adjustments.• Sensitive to hum and electromagnetic fields – avoid close proximity to power transformers.DIY-Kit-Type:SMD-Kit-1. VC F3DB stands for Voltage Controlled Fixed Filter Feedback Distortion Bank. The simplest description is it’s an analog 16hp six band voltage controlled fixed filter bank. But with the additions of so much gain, clipping, feedback, and self-oscillation it becomes a very flexible and unique gestural sound sculpting tool capable of; graphic equalization over 6 octaves, multi-band distortion, spectral processing, crude vocoding, multi-frequency envelope following, self-modulation, and even as an instrument on its own. With no input it can be used as a pseudo chaotic “harmonic” feedback oscillator. The filter frequencies were specifically chosen to emphasize more ambiguous and dissonant intervals. Although the frequency bands are spread out over many octaves I purposely tried to leave out “3rds” besides a major 10th at the top frequencies to even out all the dissonance below. But the frequencies aren’t exactly equal tempered, so it’s relative. The bands roughly equate to F2, B3, F#5, C6, F7, A8.The design is based on the Moog 914 filterbank, which it borrows the frequency bands from. But this circuit uses active filters with opamps inspired by YU Synth opposed to passive cells using inductors on the original. The 88hz is a low pass -24db/oct and 7k is a high pass -24db/oct, the rest are -12db/oct band pass filters all with a Q around 4.The hard and soft clipping circuit on the input is fairly standard which appears in many different iterations of classic guitar pedals. But it has a lot of gain and can even boost line level signals. What makes it a bit unique is the feedback on the clipping circuit which needs to be turned on by the GFB(gain feedback) switch and the amount can be controlled by the Gain FB pot which can add some fuzz/bite to the signal depending on which clipping switch is engaged or at the extremes it will self oscillate from audio rate to LFO sort of clicking range. All the clipping stages in the module are using silicon diodes.Consult the Signal Flow Chart to the left for a rough visual breakdown of the controls,in/outs,normalizations, and optional settings for the module. Each band can also be muted by the top toggle switches or clipped(at the VCA) by the top slide switch which makes this design a bit different than other filter banks. As well as the overall feedback section(bottom middle) takes the sum/all bands out through a VCA(controlled by the feedback pot and FB CV) back to the input gain/clip circuit. and you can also tap into this using different sends/bands to the FB In jack to break the normalization. With this extra feedback “resonance” you can get more whistley and howly filter sounds kinda like the Serge res eq, which can also go into self oscillation. All CV ins are expecting +5v to open the VCAs (they wont respond to negative voltage), once you get closer to +8v or so it can clip the VCA regardless of the gain settings or clip switches. Output amplitude in high gain settings will exceed 10vpp and can get up to 20vpp. The envelope followers tend to stay around 0-5v out, but with clip switch active they can go up to 10v.Since this is a high gain module there can be bleed between the bands in certain configurations and situations. Also in high gain modes with higher frequencies the 2.8k and 7k bands can bleed a little with the VCAs closed. This is a highly involved DIY all through hole project. It is a long build with 5 different pcbs to solder and assemble.DIY-Kit-Type:THT-Kit-1. This is a Do-It-Yourself kit, not an assembled module. The kit includes all parts to build the module.
