Befaco - Muxlicer
Befaco - Muxlicer

available

Muxlicer is a sequential signal processor designed for add a huge range of special functions to your modular setup in the minimum space. Is divided in three main blocks: a Digital Step Controller, a Gate Generator and an Analog Switch (a.k.a. Mux/DeMux)The module is designed with high “function to HP ratio” philosophy , to have maximum flexibility in minimum space. An analog switch is a device capable of switching or routing analog signals. In the case of Muxlicer, the switch is reversible, so you can send 8 different signals to 1 destination and viceversa.Through Common I/O you can either send a signal to the Mux I/Os or receive a signal from them. (Depending on how the module is connected). It is also used as CV Out when nothing is connected to “All In” or “Mux I/Os”. The eight Mux I/Os are normalled to “All In” jack, so any signal present at this input will go to all of them.Imagine you want to send a signal to steps 1,2,4,5,6 and 8 and two more signals to 3 and 7 respectively. You just need three wires for this: plug the first one to All In and the other two to 3 and 7 Mux I/Os and you are done!Features:• Route any modular signal from one IN up to eight different Outs or vice versa.• Generate CV and Gate signals, been able to work as sequential voltage source a.k.a. sequencer.• Cut audio signals in rhythmical slices with independent volume.• Generate complex and dynamic patterns from any audio or modulation signal.• Create powerful Gate sequences with control voltage retriggering for each step.• Select easily when your signals act on your patch with the Address function.DIY-Kit-Type:THT-Kit-1. Befaco - Sampling Modulator
Befaco - Sampling Modulator

available

The Sampling Modulator is a multi-function module that lies somewhere between a VCO, a Sample & Hold, and an 8 step trigger sequencer.Sequencer Clocked Sample & Hold In this mode it acts like a regular Sample and Hold (S&H) but since it is “sequencer clocked”, it is capable of much more interesting patterns than the usual S&H melodies. The CLOCK input can work in two ways: 1. As a typical clock 2. In “positive going hard sync” mode allowing you to create shuffling and polyrythmic effects. The HOLD input can be used to keep certain notes playing.Analog Down-Sampling Effect In this mode (with the clock running at audio rates) you can go from nasty and harsh sampling rate reduction to an almost clean signal. (The clock run up to 25Khz without external CV and up to 200Khz with CV on the input).Sampling Modulator/Shaper Thanks to the V/Oct clock, by feeding a simple waveshape such as a sine wave to IN, and pitch CV to the VCO as well as to the Sampling Modulator CV input, their related frequencies and aliasing caused by the sampling rate reduction are capable of creating clangorous metallic sounds, 8 bit textures and much more. The game becomes much more interesting when you try to destroy the wave by flipping on and off the switches of the sequencer (which at times can make it sound like three VCOs running in unison). To understand how the Sampling Modulator works, keep in mind that we are working with a temperature compensated ramp core VCO with more than 4 octaves of tracking. This allows the timbre to stay the same while you move through the scale as the internal and external VCOs are synced in a fashion similar to “frequency related sampling rate modulation”Unusual V/oct VCO You can use the trigger outputs as a pulse VCO. Flipping the switches on and off the switches can offer a lot of interesting timbral changes.Sequencer Clocked Sample & Hold In this mode it acts like a regular Sample and Hold (S&H) but since it is “sequencer clocked”, it is capable of much more interesting patterns than the usual S&H melodies. The CLOCK input can work in two ways: 1. GOMA II is our new take on the classic attenuvertermixer concept. It stands for Generator, Offset, Mixer, Attenuverter.Featuring 4 channels within a 4HP width, GOMA II pushes the boundaries of space efficiency, maintaining intuitive operation and high-end components for max precision (low tolerance resistors, low noise/distortion opamps).GOMA II offers 4 channels to attenuate or polarize (attenuverter) any audio or CV signal. Additionally, each channel can act as a high precision voltage generator (–5V to +5V) to offset another channel or control external parameters. The 4 channels can be processed separately or summed through cascade mixing, which can extend further than a single module since all the GOMA family (I, II, Pro) can be daisy chained to unlock virtually infinite mixing.DIY-Kit-Type:SMD-Kit-1. As its name implies you could think that SLEW/LFO is just a Slew and a LFO packed together but its more than that.We wanted to design a module around the Slew generator which is an underestimate function of a synth. Its often seen and use as a way to make portamento but we've thought it could be more than that.We wanted to design a small module so it could fit in any case. We wanted it to be ergonomic and easy to use despite its size. But we also wanted to pack as much features as possible to make it a "swiss knife module".The result is SLEW/LFO: a 4 HP wide module, that can be used as portamento, AD envelope, LFO, VCO, Filter, Envelope generator and much more.SLEW/LFO is so versatile that we use it in all our patchs, we are very pleased about it and hope you'll like it as much as we are.DIY-Kit-Type:SMD-Kit-1. The Dannysound Dynamics is a compressor / expander originally designed to process drums but like most processing devices, it can be used for a wide variety of applications. The module comprises of:• Compressor / Expander• Sub Bass Enhancer• 3 Band Inductor-based EQ• Harmonic ExciterThe compressor / expander section uses a discrete transistor-based circuit that allows for soft clipping when overdriven. The envelope detector is known as a feedforward type of circuit; taking it’s input from the signal before it goes to the compressor rather than after. This type of circuit is known for having fast attack times. The Sub Bass enhancer has its own compression circuit that “ducks” the initial transient. This allows the sub bass to be increased without distortionon the transient peaks increasing the overall level. There is a MIX control to allow the unprocessed signal to be mixed back in with the processed signal. The 3 band EQ is an inductor based LCR design. After trying out various EQ topologies this was the design that sounded the nicest. When overdriven it gives a nice “bite” to the sound and it has a certain characterful charm that’s hard to put into words. The controls have a response that are subtle to begin with and get more pronounced as the controls are increased. The Harmonic Exciter adds a little distortion to the high frequencies which bring out the sparkle of cymbals or the snap snare drums. The operating bandwidth can be switched between Low (snare drum snap) or High (Cymbals sparkle). There are inputs for side chaining and control with an external envelope as well as an envelope out to make the envelope detector output available to drive other modules. It also features separate inputs and outputs for the Compressor / Expander and EQ sections, so they could be used as 2 separate modules.Features:• Compressor / Expander• Sub Bass Enhancer• 3 Band Inductor-based EQ• Harmonic Exciter• Envelope In/Out• Sidechain Input• Separate In/Out for Comp/Exp and EQ sectionsDIY-Kit-Type:THT-Kit-1.
