HEX row is an analogue dual resonant filter with versatile routing capabilities, sidechain/envelope follower and mischievous character, stemming from (mis)use of transistors as variable resistors in the signal route.There are two channels, each controlled by three potentiometers: GAIN (2), RES (3), FREQ (4) and sidechained by CENTER (5). Both channels have the same topology. Inputs •| and |• are fed into each channel’s gain stage and then passed to their filters. The input signal level can be adjusted by setting the GAIN which can either attenuate or amplify a signal x20. Note that the amplification affects the filter’s behaviour—high GAIN disrupts self-oscillation, conjuring PLL-esque harmonics and other sound design artefacts. FREQ and RES are used to manipulate individual filter’s cutoff frequency and resonance. Each channel has a side-mounted switch (6) for selecting low-pass or band-pass filtering. Touch the golden touch pads (1) to manually route the flow of audio and control voltages.SIDECHAIN – Left channel’s (•I, •O) post-gain signal is filtered and fed into an envelope follower. Envelopes polarity and amplitude are adjusted by using CENTER. The adjusted envelope is then mixed in the right(|•, O•) channel’s FREQ parameter. Left half of the CENTER causes the filter to “duck” and the right half produces a gating response. In the middle position, the sidechain effect is inactive.TOPOLOGIESFEEDBACK – Connect the •O and I• sockets with a jack cable and use O• as the main output. AGOGO is an octal analogue vactrol-based low pass gate and mixer in a cascade configuration. Each one of its input, CV and output is normalized and buffered to the next one: it can be used as a multiplier and a mixer for both audio and CV.Inputs are normalled and outputs are mixed: thanks to this configuration it can be used as a modulation matrix and a signal router. ASCOLTA is a dual high fidelity input preamp with envelope follower and peak detector output for each channel. Ascolta consist of two individual high quality preamp connected to an envelope follower and a peak detector output. On the back of the module you can select the behaviour of its internal normalization when no cable is plugged into I2:S: the first input I1 will accept stereo 3.5mm standard cables from any source and split L and R to output O1 and O2 respectively. Disrupt and Pieces are analog touch controls; they act like potentiometers and they keep the value once the finger is lifted from the surface.DISRUPT: controls how much the output is affected by the waveshaper circuit. Analog optocoupler filther.GOBLET is an analog filter and distortion unit with some added quirks and extra controls. Start with both faders - frequency and resonance - at maximum, turn the trimmers fully clockwise and set the feedback pot at 0. Now insert an input and take the output either from the lowpass out or the notch out. Start to turn the frequency trimmer until the resonance kicks in. Now adjust the resonance trimmer to your taste. The faders now have full range of responsiveness. Adjust the feedback and start the filthering. Macro ControllerKNOBI is a multi-tool able to mix, attenuate, invert, display and multiply any kind of signal. Knobi can serve a wide range of purposes thanks to its internal signal path that makes use of some of the most useful building blocks of analog synthesis: a 4-channel mixer, a three-range offset, an attenuverter, a fixed manual gate and lastly a cascading multiple derived from the output stage of Agogô.a, b, c and d are Knobi’s inputs while r is a fixed 5v reference output. The toggle switch next to d sets the range of the offset - the big knob below the meter. Connect a signal into one of the inputs to visualize its voltage value in the three digits meter. Keep in mind that this reading happens post offset and attenuverter - the smaller knob with (-) and (+) indications.The pushbutton next to x4 adds a gate of 5v to the mix: with no input connected it will act as a manual gate output. Autopatch the r reference output into one of the inputs to use Knobi as a macro controller thanks the offset knob and switch to set the range and the attenuverter.x1, x2, x3 and x4 are all cascading copies of the final signal path. Plugging a cable will break the normalization and the multiplication will reset starting from the next output. NEXUM is a smart eurorack multi-cable tester.Plug a cable in one of the sockets and the other end specularly on the opposite side. Check if the blue LEDs light up steady in a number equal to the cores of the cable you are testing. Test 3 is a purpose-designed tool for measuring voltages and currents in your Eurorack system. This means that just a single circuit board or module can now replace a convoluted test setup with multiple multimeters, custom cables etc.Two push buttons allow you to cycle the value shown on the LED display between three measurements (voltage, current and stored peak current) of the three power rails. A 4-pole multimode filter based on the SSI2140 integrated circuit. Essentially an updated version of the classic SSM2040, the new SSI2140 adds better temperature compensation and a VCA that helps eliminate low frequency damping at high resonance settings.
