Stereo Strip takes the idea of a channel strip and makes it modular. We hope that by bringing this long-established component of the audio engineering world into the Eurorack environment and by adding CV control over its key parameters that you will find new, creative ways to use it in your patches!It features stereo inputs and outputs for audio or CV with EQ, voltage controlled panning, stereo VCA, performable mute and input/output level switching for Eurorack or line level uses. Abusing the input level switching allows for some musical, modulate-able and highly shapeable distortion sounds too.Stereo Strip was designed to be a creative part of a modular patch. Creating stereo images from mono sources, shaping and modulating existing stereo images, synthesising stereo pseudo ring modulation, sweetening FX with EQ or drastically wave shaping your oscillators, creating send FX routings with benefits or it can simply be used as a channel strip at the end of chain in a patch.The addition of line level gain boosting (for the input) or reduction (for the output) allow it to work as a stereo input or output interface for external gear with the advantage of the VCA, panning and the EQ to shape the sound. SALLEN KEY is our tribute of the legendary MS-20 filter. We've tried our best to honor this unique and iconic filter.It’s composed of a 2 Poles Low Pass and a 1 Pole High Pass. Unlike the original we added a crossfader allowing you to blend the Low Pass and High Pass filters to create complex filtering.What makes this filter special is its non linear feedback path. This design avoids the filter to clipping when self-oscillating, but also gives its unique color. We’ve choose to integrate LED’s instead of diodes. It not only slightly changes the color of the resonance, but also gives a nice feedback information about the drive of the resonance path.Since SALLEN KEY can self-oscillate it can be use as sound source. Ilse is an elegantly minimal, yet fully functional synthesizer voice in a compact 10 HP Eurorack module. The only thing you need to let it meow is a CV source to trigger its 1V/Oct frequency input (or a MIDI to CV converter and a MIDI sequencer) . Because it has a low part count it is ideal for Eurorack beginners or entry-level DIY projects.Ilse is named after a cat, living in the legendary “Villa” in Weimar, Germany. The “Villa” was a place where a community lived and came together. Many underground concerts and parties took place here before the house got sold, renovated, and the mayor moved in. We created the graphics on the aluminum face-plate in her memory. Ilse (the synth) makes great acid sounds, so it was only logical to illustrate a cat tripping. Turn the knobs to make her look around or roll her eyes.Ilse is designed to be affordable, easy to build, yet flexible, and feature rich. It is a synthesizer voice for your Eurorack, but can even be driven without a rack using two 9V batteries (not included).Ilse is fully open source (KiCad schematic and layout is available in a git repository) and inspired by Syntherjack’s single-chip synthesizer Totoro. The Multi-Mode Ladder (MML) Filter is a twist on the classic transistor ladder low pass filter by Dr. Robert A. Moog.This filter updates the classic 4-pole ladder design to provide Band Pass and High Pass filter responses as well as the traditional Low Pass filter,this module also adds CV control over the resonance as well as two frequency CV inputs.The circuit features a fully discrete transistor design with an op-amp buffered output, this allows soft saturation of the input signalto get the classic overdriven tones of the ladder filter. Who doesn’t love a good resonant low pass VCF? It’s arguably the beating heart of any subtractive synth – adding character, dynamics, and a good deal of retro-futuristic oddness to your patches. That’s why a diode ladder VCF that sticks to super basic and widely available components was created. On top of that, the architecture is as approachable as possible by avoiding the tricky diff-pair setup classic ladder filters rely on.We – Erica Synths and Moritz Klein – have developed a series of educational DIY kits under the brand name mki x es.EDU with one specific goal in mind: to teach people with little-to-no prior experience how to design analog synthesizer circuits from scratch. What you’ll find in the box is not simply meant to be soldered together and then disappear in your rack. Instead, we want to take you through the circuit design process step by step, explaining every choice we’ve made and how it impacts the finished module.In total, we have developed 9 kits to build a fully-featured modular monosynth: a sequencer, a VCO, a wavefolder, a noise/S&H module, a mixer, a VCF, an Envelope generator, a dual VCA, and an output stereo mixer with a headphone amplifier. This module is the result of almost a year of brainstorming to make a multipurpose sound destruction module.After checking several classic distortion/fuzz/overdrive/clipping circuits, we decided to blend several ideas in one module and give you enough options, so you can mangle your sound to your taste.The circuit blends direct clean sound with two different type of distortions.One circuit is a FET preamp based on a classic circuit of a mini portable cassette recorder & mixer combo from the eighties. It has variable gain and level control.The other circuit is based on classic guitar pedal distortion/fuzz with switchable diode or MOSFET distortion. This circuit also has variable gain and level control.The two distortion circuits are followed by a Baxandall two band equaliser (the one from our PRE-KM module) to shape the distorted sound to your pleasure.Finally the mangled (double distorted/clipped equalised) sound is blended with the clean sound for the right balance.This module sounds great on drums, bass synth or even acoustic sources.
